I have a question about how the fatal strike rule for RG Mor Deythan plays out. If you have a 10 man squad of Mor Deythan and can only fire half the squad, using the fatal strike rule in a turn, can you fire the rest using fatal strike in the next turn? When they can get into range or whatever kept them from firing is no longer a problem? I assume it works that way but wanted to hear what others think about that.

Isn't it a once per game ability for the unit? Then you'd trigger the ability and any that can't shoot at your target (for whatever reason) lose out and are unable to do it again later.

Otherwise you have the issues of tracking models that have or have not FS'ed during the game, as well as somehow granting you 2 (or more) game turns of the ability.

Thanks for your reply. That is why I made the post. I am just getting into 30k and I wanted to know what most people play it as. From reading the rule it would seem that you would in fact "lose out". Yet I was told otherwise during a recent game. I assumed that he was right about it at the time but wasn't sure when I got home and reread the rule. So I hope to clarify it among the 30k community here and through other RG players with more experience than myself.

A little house rule we use for them is twice per game since it can be very lack lustre for our raven guard player.

I disagree that Mor Deythan with combi-flamers using Fatal Strike is lack lustre.

AoS - Maggotkin of Nurgle, Ossiarch Bonereapers & Seraphon.
Bloodbowl - Lizardmen.
Horus Heresy - World Eaters.
Marvel Crisis Protocol - Avengers, Brotherhood of Mutants & Cabal.
Middle Earth Strategy Battle game - Rivendell & The Easterlings.
