Thought about dropping the 2 stormhawks for 3 Razorbackss or rhinos for the tac marines.

Planning on keeping the captain and the ancient nest the devastators for the re-rolls.

Anyone have some ways to make this better sticking with basic marines?

If I could only change 1 thing I'd probably change over to ravenguard tactics. Being able to use their strategem is good for the assault Marines (even if you just hide them somewhere) and the -1 to hit over 12" is always good. The fliers would also be -1 to hit most of the time, so they would fit pretty well.

I think that some of the other relics are better than the armor. I like the standard the best.

Some of your unit upgrades also feel out of place, like the thunder hammer on the ancient.

Assault Marines are really bad at 2 attacks its worth bumping them up to vanguard vets, who also have much better acess to wargear.
4lascannons and a sarge is going to mean your dev squads start bleeding a lot of points and your anti tank ability when they take losses.

Appreciate the feedback.

Unfortunately the vanguard vets are an elite choice. So if I drop the assault marines I’ll have to dig up some more fast units to fill out the brigade. Unless I dump the brigade all together.

Marines and a brigade is a lot of sup par units for some CP with limited game changing strats to use the CP's on

If you change this to 2 battalions, you could drop some mandatory units that you need for the BDE and flesh out the remaining units. An all power armor army looks cool on the table but it is not effective. You are not very mobile and very vulnerable. Your highest toughness on the ground is 4, even IG will have an easy time chewing through that with weight of fire. A smart opponent would just ignore your flyers bc once they are the only units left you are tabled.

Just to illustrate my point:
If I counted it correctly you have 89 T4 wounds on the table. My current tournament list has 75 T7 wounds plus a bunch of troops and HQs at T4

Think diversity. You want some armor and you want some skull crushing melee units.

Some valuable advice here...

I too enjoy taking lots of boots on the ground, massed power armour does look great!! but a handful of rhinos and the like give you some much needed staying power... also, some ablative wounds for those devastators please; casualties are gonna hurt from the first hits with this build...

aside from IG I feel like the brigade was designed for apocalypse games....

at 2000pts I take Guilliman; 50 Tactical Marines, 4 Company Veterans, 5 Devastators, 2 Lieutenants, a Captain, a Chaplain, and 3 Rhinos.... I'm guilty of not having placed more ablative wounds in my devastator squad; but that's because I can't face painting any more bolter marines for a lil while.... but you'd be amazed how much staying power adding the rhino's affords.... for the humble standard transport it takes a beating....
