Hi, I'm sorry if this subject has been broached before but I was having a discussion with a fellow Tau player last night about whether a Coldstar Commander can take Cyclonic Ion Blasters.

I said he could because I couldn't see a reason why in either the Codex, the rwcent FAQ or Chapter Approved.

In the codex in plainly says that a Coldstar can take any weapon from the ranged weapon list which the CiB is in.

Can anyone tell me something different? I appreciate any help.

Look again. At the CIb description in the ranged weapon list. You can't take it.

Read the list of Ranged Weapons and note the asterisk. Page 89 of the codex.
