I've had the Start Collecting Tzeentch box for a good while now, but I've only painted a small part of it. Now, I come to the decision of:

1) Herald of Tzeentch on Burning Chariot AND Exalted Flamer
2) Herald of Tzeentch AND Burning Chariot

Which one would you recommend?

I voted for the burning chariot and plain herald. I like that choice because the herald can give a locus bonus to the horrors I think, but more importantly, the chariot gives the exalted flamer the speed to get in shooting range from your deployment zone on turn 1.

I've had many games where my exalted flamer has to wait a turn to shoot, which means sometimes he gets shot first! Plus it gives him the screamer flyover attacks which can be useful on occasion.

If i had the time and dough i'd make 2000point warpflame host army with 9 burning chariots, the exalted flamer, and a herald on chariot for the general, and then all the burning ones become battleline; so very burny!

Yeah, my first box build was Herald on Burning Chariot and standalone Exalted Flamer, and I agree the Exalted Flamer can often not get much done before getting shot off himself. When he does, though, he is pretty neat, but you get that plus more on the chariot. 2nd box I'm going the other way.

Or you can do this:
- Herald of Tzeentch on foot
- Exalted Flamer
- Create your own Blue Scribes with two of the three Blue Horrors and the books and scrolls from the kit. (you need to buy a 60mm round base to match the one from the Blue Scribes)
- You also get two screamers and a blue horror left (who knows if you'll need to proxy something else someday)

Otherwise, If you don't like the idea, is usually better to build the Herald & Burning Chariot option.
