Here's a question: Do nations of order ever war or skirmish with each other in the lore? It seems to me that would be difficult to avoid, but I have yet to hear of it, so the fluff may preclude it. In short, I had an idea for an AoS story that involves two human nations warring with each other. But how much autonomy do the mortals even have in AoS?

Yes, they do.

Fyreslayers have fought for non-Order factions against Order, the Daughters of Khaine and Idoneth Deepkin raid human nations and, judging from some of the incidental details in the Malign Portents stories, there's plenty of rivalry and corruption within the various foundling cities and nations throughout the Realms that I'm sure can and does lead to outright warfare.

Sylvaneth have been known to attack any trespassers regardless of race.

Vigo. Spain.

Why wouldn't order factions fight between them? The realms are nearly infinite. If two "order" based kingdoms have disputes, they will surely fight, just like thei do in real life.

It gets worse when you have order factions that are like idoneth deepkin, daugthers of khaine, fyreslayers, etc...

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

This is the beauty of the 'Order' faction.

First of all, there are no good guys. Order might come close, but as soon as you realise that Order/=Good, you can see loads of scope.

Stormcast Eternals: Preoccupied with eradication of Chaos. That village got a chaosy smell about it? It's time for the lightning. The poor sods living there? Well, if they haven't already fallen to Chaos they will eventually, so we best kill them all. And certain SCE Chambers are open in their dislike for other order races. The Hallowed Knights for example hate the Dreadwood Sylvaneth for being too killy. And that's without exploring the narrative that the more they get re-forged, the more inhumane they become..

Deepkin. All they care about is stealing souls and being left alone. Lovely tasty souls. No matter who they come from

FyreSlayers. Mercs. Give us some cash and we'll crack heads.

Khadron. Flying Mercs. Greedy gold seeking SOBs.

Sylvaneth. They really don't give a damn outside the forests. They are more concerned about purging the chaos and decay from their lands. And don't like people coming into their lands. And they have clans like the Dreadwood, that are horrible stabby trees that grew in bad soil

And so on.

Order is just that. They want a certain order in the realms. But all want it differently. Just as Death just want souls and to serve the grand master, Destruction just want a fight and to watch the world burn, and Chaos want the opposite of order.

I'm from the future. The future of space

Seraphon are celestial daemons that show up based on the inhuman dreaming and remember of the slann. In the Clan Pestilens novel they showed up primarily to keep a powerful chaos book out of the hands of the skaven and fought alongside the stormcast, but had the stormcast been the ones to capture the book, I think it's fairly likely they would not have taken no for an answer-- they were dealing with that book then and there.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.
