I have started sniffing around for a price on an army of Arachameanid Persians, but have only found Warlord's line so far in 28mm.

Can someone point me to other alternatives so I can compare? I prefer plastic, but know that this might not be possible.

Thanks for your help.

Wargames factory used to make some plastics.

From my links folder I have the following in metal, but not sure whether they are Achaemenid or Sassaind only.

Afraid that's all I have, will edit if I think of more.

These Ironwind (formerly Ral Partha) Persians are 25mm though so they'll be dwarfed by your newly painted hoplites. The only other manufacturers of 28mm Persians I book marked is Batttlestandard and Warlord Games both of which you are aware of.

First Corps (now Curtey's) do some Persians. More 25mm though.

They are a little smaller, but in units of their own it is less noticible. I have Old Glory and Footsore cavalry for my Goths, and they work okay together. The Old Glory in their own units make the Hearthguard look more imposing and 'eltie'.

The other ranges I could think of have gone out of business.

There is also Wargames Foundry. They are a bit pricey, and this is an older range so they may be more '25':

I found these from 1st Corps and more importantly as US Distributor as well through Scale Creep Miniatures.

Has anyone personally seen these models in real life and know how they scale to Victrix?

Cant answer to the specifics there but used to have some of 1stcorps' Teutonic Knights and they were pretty much a chunky 25mm, so next to Victirx I would go for not very well scaled, in separate units maybe passable.
You didn't have any joy with the Wargames Factory plastics I take it?

Bugger, I thought those ebay listings were US based. Though ebay tends to think I am as well.

Warlord Games inherited/acquired the plastic Wargames Factory ranges.

You also have Black Tree Design as an option, and possibly in the US Battle Standard (although their website is so incoherent I'm unsure if they still exist http://www.battlestandardminiatures.com/)

Between ranges I doubt there is much consistency as to what is 28mm and what;s 25mm. The Foundry range is generally well regarded
