Over a century passes between the start of the Indomitus Crusade and the start of the Plague Wars. So does that mean all the non-marine human characters have long since died? Other than Creed I guess who is probably frozen in carbonite somewhere...

it's a little more confusing when you consider the effects of the warp. whereas for Gulliman's crusade 70 years had passed when they arrived on Baal. to the blood angels Seven DAYS had passed

Also, humans can live for hundreds of years with juviat (spelling?) treatments and cybernetics. Ciaphas Cain lived well into his 2nd century, and Yarrick was somewhere around 300 years old and still kicking.
