I want to add a bit to some miniatures to represent a cloaking device...anyone have a good suggestion of what I could use? Preferably I won't have to spend to much on it...this is for 40k

Well that is confusing (a little)

Simple answer is the minatures are 1993 Space Marines, that I will be supplementing with Mantic miniatures to make a Squats army using Iron Hands rules. These guys are scouts, and whil;e I want to have something to represent their cloaks, I also don't want to model cloaks on them (Does that make sense)

You could take away out of the Tau stealthsuit book and paint them.as if they are transitioning into/out of their stealth field. Basically paint most of the.model the same.colour as the base, with a few.patches of.a highly contrasting artificial.colour, like.grey or black, and paint a lightning effect over the transition between the schemes.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
