The bases were really easy. I used some thin cork board (in my case, some cork coasters that I tore up), glued them on, primed them gray, and then covered them with Astrogranite texture paint.
The color of the cork 'coral' is Ionrach Flesh washed with Coelia Greenshade and drybrushed back with Ionrach Flesh.
The water is just successive thin coats of blue, starting dark and going all the way up to Fenrisian Gray at the very edges. Keeping it thin helps the colors blend together.
Finally, coat the water with 'Ard Coat gloss for a shine.
The combination of the 'Ard Coat and the texture paint over the water helps give it a sense of movement and texture without spending a bunch of time on tricky water effects. It's effective and quick, so great for making tons of Thrall bases!
