So I've mostly been able to keep my love for the Khorne and Tzeentch Daemon models suppressed for the 5 years I've been in the hobby but now that I need a new fix for this summer I think it's time to let it out. I've never played as either army and would an ally force of the two be fluffy or just wrong. I play competitively with my Necrons and I'm looking to get a more casual army that's still good. I love the Tzeentch Flamers and Chariots and from there I don't really know where to go. Any advice on what's good, what's brokenly good, what's just okay, and what I should only put on the table if I can't live without the model? -Btw I hate the Soulgrinder model so that won't happen

Tl;Dr I'm looking to get into Tzeentch and Khorne Daemons, advice?

It wouldnt be wrong. Slaanesh and Khorne? Yes. Tzeentch and nurgle? Yes. But anything besides those pairings is fine in fluff.

Tzeentch and khorne are pretty good complimentary forces. Khorne bloodletter bombs are absolutely awesome and pretty easy to use effectively.

Tzeentch is a big of a puzzle army. Good use of splitting, auras and buffs can make 20 pink horrors an almost impossible to kill blob. Someone recently posted some good results of splitting in the daemon tactica thread.

Bringing greater daemons is an excellent way to stay casual, as they are bullet magnets and can be brought down kind of easily. However, if your opponent doesn't bring them down, they are awesome in CC and will ruin your opponents army.
Soul grinders are another fluff unit, they are not that great, so don't worry about anyone telling you that you need one for an army to work.

I would start with at least 1 of each start collecting box. Both are good and have plenty of good units. Bloodcrushers and screamers being ok/good units, pinks and bloodletters being needed (units of +20 are buffed, so you need a lot)

Skarbrand is awesome, Fateweaver isn't. Broken good is 60-90 bloodletters and skarbrand deep striking with banners for 3D6 charge, getting skarbrands aura all around for extra attack and preventing the enemy from falling back. If you pull that off, its nearly an auto win. Bloodletters are the shining gold standard of which all daemons are measured against.

Bloodcrushers are bad units. Ive ran them, ive done mathhammer, and in almost every respect it is better to bring bloodletters, or a daemon prince for roughly the same points. Which saddens me to say, because Crushers are LOVELY models, and I want them to work. Sadly they are literally the only bad Khorne daemon unit.

On that note, ALWAYS bring a Daemon Prince. More of you are multi-god. Theyre your only source of rerolls in the entire army, and in general they are just damn fantastic.

Every army box of Get Started Collecting is a solid deal and great start. I've added 2 Get Started Nurgle boxes to my DG army and they've been stellar every game.

Start collecting nurgle is a 70$ USD discount. It is HILARIOUSLY undervalued.
