How do marines and imperial knights ally together now that the detachment change in the big faq says the imperial keyword cannot be used? I think there is still a way but I'm unsure of how it is.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

The same way they always did, with a super heavy detachment. The keyword changes only apply to units in the same detachment.

This. The beta Battle Brothers rule only affects units WITHIN a detachment. Between detachments you can still use IMPERIUM.

Examples:
Legal under Beta Battle Brothers: A Patrol of Ultramarines, a Super-Heavy Detachment of Knights, a Brigade of Adepta Sororitas.

Illegal under Beta Battle Brothers: A Super-Heavy Detachment of 2 Knights and Rowboat Girlyman, or a Patrol of a Space Marine Captain and a Battle Sister Squad, or a Patrol of Space Marine Captain, Tactical Marines and Vindicare Assassin.

I was talking about this change in the rules with some folks in my local GW and we where ALL laughing about it. the over all additude was "Don't most people take pure detachments these days anyway? are combined sisters of battle and space wolf lists a problem or something?"

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Yes it really was a pointless rule that only served to hurt casual armies like Inquisition task forces.

Its only a beta rule, and it can change before it becomes an official rule.

It wasn't quite pointless. We were seeing tournament lists that were two pure detachments and then a mixed detachment. For example, consider all of the lists that had Celestine but no sisters.

In their defense, Celestine and Roboute Guilliman were marketed specifically as units for any Imperial Detachment, not just their own faction. That’s on GW, not the players. If they didn’t want that to happen, they shouldn’t have told us to do it from the beginning.
