I bought a Vostroyan command squad off of Ebay and when it arrived I noticed the whole thing was in resin. (It just looked like it was in grey undercoat on the ebay pic)

Did GW ever produce them in resin or did I buy myself a recast by mistake? ( I also checked and GW lists it as being metal on the site)

A recast. Vostroyans were never in resin only metal.

Don't feel bad, if it was an honest mistake, just chalk it up to experience.

I can still contest the sale. I think I might do that.

Before you do make sure it was actually listed as GW brand. Lots of recasts on ebay don't have brand marked so they get away with it.

Is the quality of miniatures any good btw?

The quality kinda sucks. There are gaps and bubbles I'll need to fill. They're warped in a few places. The standard bearer's sword is missing.

Considering I paid what was essentially the same as what I'd have paid GW for them, I'm pretty unhappy.

Negotiating with the seller right now. He says he had no idea they were knockoffs as he got them in a lot and just thought they were finecast.

Protip, never ever EVER buy from China/Russia/any country other than USA or England on eBay when it comes to rarer models. At least not unless you're getting a serious discount or have accepted that you're probably buying recast. They're surprisingly common.

You can contest, send the models to the GW counterfeit bit, they certify its a fake, you get the money back.

If the location being shipped from is China or Russia, I generally don't buy.

If it seems fishy in the pictures (e.g. swords missing or whatever) I send a question to the seller.
