I was wondering, as I start my first 40k army in 4 years, how much of an issue differing paint schemes would be to differentiate between Drukhari Cults. For example, I am playing around with a list with an outrider Cult of Red Grief and two Cult of Strife Battalion Detachments but I do not exactly want to paint two different schemes. My Red Grief detachment has only one Succubus as Red Grief so she'd be the only wych with Red Grief in a spearhead detachment with reavers and transports. The other two Cult of Strife battalion detachments would only have Succubus and wyches, all with different loadouts from the Red Grief Succubus.

As long as I'm clear about it would it be an issue?

Well, Dark Eldar all come with transfer sheets.

You could make sure that each unit has its own Kabal/Cult/Coven symbol flying on a banner somwhere on the squad or vehicle. Thats what I would do, because I hate the idea of painting all my models a different colour.

Kill Primaris, Kill the Primarchs. They don't belong in 40K

If you were facing me I wouldn't care if everything was identical. Even if you used transfer sheets to display all of your units as part of the same force, but used the rules for various cults for your different detachments. It's not very difficult to remember which is for which.

Green painters tape?

Tape a strip around the base and put an x,y or z maybe?

Same basic scheme but different hair colour, or weapon glow or something.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

That could work. Red Grief can have red hair on the Wyches, Reavers, and Wych transport drivers and the Strife Wyches could have blue hair.
