I haven't seen anybody else bring this up, but it seems like a pretty obvious correlation to me.

Stormbird:
Spoiler:

Blackstar:
Spoiler:

Just take off the giant drum turbines and it's a dead ringer, twin tail fins and all.

And another thing, anybody remember the Overlord Airship?

It seems pretty obvious that the Kharadron Overlords are based on that single model. I mean, both are airships being flown by power armored dwarfs produced by GW.

EDIT: Dunno why I said Thunderbird in the title of the thread.

Ha! That one's fairly close, too. Gotta love that frog-faced jet liner front. Looks like something the ninja turtles would ride around in.

And I always thought it was just a Stealth Bomber with twin booms.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

Eh, Sorta?

That old Stormbird is a pretty good take on the dropship from "Aliens" though. But instead of the wings, the turbines of an areal hunter-killer from Terminator.
