Simple question really, to which I think I know the answer but want a second opinion.

The Callidus Assassin allows you to deploy 'anywhere on the board', 1d6+3" away from the enemy. The beta deep strike rule changes that to 'from turn two onwards' as it doesn't create an exception for Assassins the way it does for gene stealer cults.

Correct?

You could set the Callidus Assassin up in your first turn somewhere that is both 1D6+3" away from enemy models and wholly within your deployment zone, of course. Less commonly useful than dropping them in your opponent's backfield, but potentially still useful.

That is correct. You have to wait until turn 2 to deploy, but her confusion ability will still work. The latest FAQ basically made Assassins useless.

Its an intriguing idea as a counterstrike unit. However given that I've traditionally used her to deny my enemy the use of a key vehicle (such as high key anti - knight vehicles) its still a bit of a blow

I'm not sure I'd go that far, but it's undeniably a blow to the Callidus and Eversor. I usually deploy at least one C kniulexus with my knights as an anti smite bubble, and I've never used the snipers much.

Still, damn
