Could someone give me some feedback on how to properly use the feculent gnarlmaw?
Tried it yesterday with my Nurgle daemons and Death Guard army but found it lacklustering. I might have been using it wrong tho.
I deployed it in my deployment zone near an objective and camped my plagueburst crawlers near him.

The Gnarlmaw has a few really good uses, objective camping isn't really one of them.

1. Near the front of your deployment to let NURGLE DAEMON units advance, shoot and charge. Plague drones have a decent chance at a turn 1 charge thanks to +1 to charge and advance rolls.

2. Deep strike it mid game to allow NURGLE DAEMON units to fall back and charge freely.

3. Deep strike it with Nurgle Obliterators to give them +2 to their save from shooting.

The gnarlmaws mortal wounds is a boost, but the real buff is advance with no penalty. +2 to armor saves isn't much help with Chaos Daemons, it gives them a +4 save, but you have to be entirely within 7" of it, and it's limited on who gets the buff.

i use them with my deathguard.

PBC near a tree can back out of combat, shoot and then roll back into combat to hide from shooting/force them to back off.

Also useful for my Mortarion Accelerator list.

General plan is to have a noxious blightbringer and a CSM prince with warptime next to morty, and by a tree.

Prince advances.
Morty advances (2 dice take the better from blightbringer) within 3 inches of prince.

Warptime Morty - he advances again with the same distance (as per tyranid faq for double moving like this)
Morty can then shoot and charge, as the tree allows you to do both even if you advance if you begin your turn within it's aura.

If you give the blightbringer the helm of fulgaris you can cram a bunch of other units around the tree and within his bubble too. it moves your army faster than the enemy expects.

Extra points if you drop another tree further upfield too..
