As djones520 said, yes, they have rules in Book 6, but they have yet to receive the full Horus Heresy treatment yet. What this means is that they have a Rite of War, a few specific pieces of wargear, and that's it. No unique units, characters, or the Primarch Lion el Johnson. Their full rules are expected in Book 8 Angelious, due later 2018 (towards the end probably).

Be sure to read the sticky post above! It'll tell you what books you'll need and some other great resources!

No, their full rules will be in book 9.

They got dropped out of book 8, and the White Scars were put in.

Derp. You are right. Not enough coffee this morning.

Sorry Motograter! You might be waiting a year or two more for the Full Monty treatment of the Dark Angels.

To be fair, they have pretty good Legion rules from book 6, they just don't have all the bells and whistles that other chapters have.

Oooo... White Scars in Book 8?! Are you sure? As a White Scars player, that is great news! I bought Book 6 for the White Scars rules, but it was pretty disappointing that there was nothing in the book about the White Scars at all. It was just tacked on there for some reason.

Thanks.

Yes. Dead positive. Not a single Dark Angel player out there is happy about it.

Yeah, I feel for the Dark Angels players. But with all the focus on 40k 8th edition, Horus Heresy has fallen a bit to the side lately so I am just happy to see they are still releasing new books at a reasonable pace and supporting the game. Dark Angels will get the spotlight soon enough.

Waiting isn't an issue thankfully. I could always do white scars too I suppose as I imagine they'll be bike heavy too

Ravenwing in 30k are a very solid force.

They get all the benefits of being dark angels, so great wargear and a situational special rule for close combat.

A unit of jet bikes buzzing around with molecular acid rounds is pure awesome and will mince anything with a T value fairly easily, at a pinch they can fly off the board in a similar manner to flyers for next turn objective grabbing or alpha strike.

Outriders having the scout rule means they also play like the traditional ravenwing of old 40k for some handy pressure in the first turn, these bikes can all take twin linked special weapons too which while expensive, it does mean you can bring some heavy weapons with you to pop tanks.

Personally I would start with a praetor on a jet bike and command squad on jet bikes, with a primaris medicae too, give them all molecular acid rounds and a smattering of close combat weapons, calibanite warblades, give the medicae a terranic greatsword and take the usual praetor build, expensive unit but with a good amount of customisation you will always have fun with it.
