I´m confused about the whole thing with Battle forged and legion traits. Specifically mixing legion traits. Can I have both Black Legion and Emperor's Children in the same army (different detachments) and still gain their respective legion traits or do I have to choose one? Thanks!

Yup! You only need to make sure that each detachment is made out of a single Legion in order for that detachment to benefit from the Legion traits. So you could have 1 detachment be Black Legion, and get the +1 Ld and "Advance and shoot Rapid Fire as if Assault", and you could also have 1 detachment be Emperor's Children to get the "always strikes first in close combat". However, if you have a single detachment, and that detachment had both Black Legion AND Emperor's Children units in it, then you wouldn't benefit from the traits of either Legion.

Think of detachments as pots of Citadel™ Lahmian™ Medium™. As long as you keep each pot "pure", all is golden, no matter how many pots you have. If you add a drop of Citadel™ Nuln™ Oil™ to a pot, you've gone and ruined everything forever.
