Hey I’ve been theory crafting with models I have and I can up with this list. I not have the vultures and I have 5 vendettas. So the question is is it worth spending the cash to get the 3 models I’m missing to use them in a competitive way? Also are vultures legal in tournaments? I went Valhallan to make is so I don’t degrade until 3-4 wounds left depending on if it’s a round up rule. Cadian could work also with the reroll 1s and the 1 shot cadian relic for turn 1 devastation. Do flyers have to move each turn? I haven’t played since 4th edition so I’m trying to relearn and get competitive again. What lists would I have problems with and is it enough to win?

Aircraft do not have <Regiment> so they cannot be given doctrines. Flyer spam loses since either your Guardsmen are wiped out easily if you deploy them or you keep them in transports and auto lose to boots on the ground. Or did you have a plan to get around that?

I was just planning on dropping them on objectives and las cannon spam on units that get 2 close

Sadly, as someone who played pure air cav Guard in 5e, it's just not viable under the current rules. Vendettas in particular just plain suck: They cost 230 points and inexplicably lack Roving Gunship, or Strafing Run, or any other special rule to mitigate the 5+ BS they'll be shooting with.

How many turns do your vendettas need, to kill a single conceal buffed Alaitoc Waveserpent?

Ok that’s lame I guess I’ll make a different list, I was thinking 15 basilisks could be fun too lol

Since your first post indicated an interest in tournaments I would not go over 9 as many are using the 3 datasheet restriction. No reason to spend the time and money on something that will not leave the case.

You can fit 18 basilisks into one spearhead they can be taken as a3unit squad that goes independent on the field

One idea I had for the vendetta squad is on turn one If you don’t get first go, after the opponent takes his turn and shoots at you with -1 you go into hover. So they didn’t move and hit on 4+. If you fire all those las cannons you might be able to do enough damage on your turn to get some nasties of the board. And for your opponent they get one turn with no minus to hit but they are still shooting at a squadron of vehicles and probably will only be able to take one out. One vendetta can kill a baneblade or imperial knight in one turn with good rolls and you have 6 of them. Horde lists are what I would see myself having a problem with.
