Hi there,

I was not sure to post this in news and rumors but...

Well I have the impression last year Wayland Games offered voucher for July up to 5% extra or something... Can anyone remember? Any idea if this is coming again?

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience, I have to plan my order before I turn back to my country.

I wouldn't order from Wayland. Their stock is rarely what they claim it to be - spesh if you're on a time limit yourself.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news there, but hoping to help you avoid hassle

I've ordered several thousand dollars of product from Wayland since the pound crashed two years ago. Best prices in the world for many product, especially because of the free shipping to the USA.

I respect Wayland because most UK companies don't inform you ahead of time that products simply don't exist, and often take months to manufacture and ship your purchase without any communications. Wayland at least lists on each item whether they have to order it or not.

I've spent a fair pile of money with them and the service has generally been pretty good.

As they're massive (Europe's biggest, according to them, which you can well believe if you've been to the store), if you're buying a disparate pile of stuff you can usually get what you need from them without having to split orders between different places which is a bonus.

I know some years ago they struggled with new GW releases (from memory there was a bit of needle between supplier/seller, they didn't use official GW box art for ages for instance) but I don't know what that has been like recently.

Well yes, they quite frequently have long delivery issues and out of list items. Still, with the combination of almost free shiping (except starters) pounds and 20% off they are so competitive that I cannot blame them and am a loyal customer for at least 5 years... I just have to be patient and well organized. Dealing with GW some years ago was also very complicated for any retailer in the business.

Still, any idea if they did this extra discount last year on July?

Their website stock listing is far more accurate today than it was in the past (when it was a gamble as to what was and wasn't really in stock). If you order and they don't have it you can expect to wait, but their prices are good and they are good to communicate with.

Slower delivery times is the only problem I've ever had with them. I'd say expect 2 weeks or so on many orders unless its very much in stock. But otherwise I've no complaints about Wayland.

No one has answered OP's question, haha.

The answer is that, we don't know. I can imagine Wayland doing an extra 5% off during July or August, though.

Thank you. Unfortunately I did some clean up of my mail box so I could not find anything related... Never clean your mail box !

Their catalog is impressive and they have recently hired a very polite and genuinely helpful CS person, to contrast their usual passive aggressive dreck.

The stock issues persist, even current GW product isn't always trivial to get (2 weeks from order to dispatch is common) and anything else will take 4-6 weeks.

For example, I pre-ordered a new Malifaux kit on the 21st of March, which was about 10 days before release date. It was dispatched on the 17th of May.

The Malifaux kit really isn't their fault. They've had factory and distribution problems of late, with releases getting pushed back or in limbo for months.

Just got an e-mail from Wayland with a 5% off discount so chances are if you're in their email mail list you'll get one too!

Though it only lasts till the 22nd of June and won't work on pre-orders from GW

I know it's sort of a Dakka meme to make excuses for shoddy companies, but I also made a seperate order on the 21st of March for some current GW product and it dispatched on the 18th on the following month.

I used to order from Wayland only grudgingly as their range far surpassed other online retailers.Happily these days the others have caught up, and after flirting with a few Firestorm is now my first stop for any product, though I will happily buy from Element also. Thus, I haven't had to order from Wayland in many many years.

I did hear a few years ago that they had reorganised and were a lot better for it, but why take the chance when you're getting consistently excellent service elsewhere?

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

These are some great comments that have nothing to do with the OP
