Hello everyone, hope you're all well.

With the release of Games Workshop's new Kill Team game looming in the near future I decided to get back into the hobby again after quite some time away. I much prefer those small scale high story driven battles, so, safe to say I'm super hyped for the new Kill Team!

Imperial guard ODST's then, I think they fit perfectly into Kill Team; a squad or two of special forces sent to complete specific missions that maybe would be otherwise too complex or specialist for regular soldiers.

How to achieve the Halo look? Well I didn't want to overdo the Halo-ness, I wasn't going for a exact copy. I don't really think my green stuff skills are quite at the level of sculpting and entire model yet but I did manage to make a pretty decent helmet.

I'm actually getting it cast by Zealot miniatures at the moment, I heard they were really good quality, so I really can't wait to get some casts from them and start building my force.
I've still got a load of stuff to do, I'm quite surprised how big the project is for only 3 squads. I decided to pick up some Elysian drop troopers from forgeworld in their last chance to buy sale, so I'll base them on them although I'm thinking of getting some different torsos.

For those that are into the gaming side of things, this is what my Kill team is comprised of (hopefully this will be still legal in the new rules) for 200pts:

PCS
Mortar, 2 Sniper Rifles

PIS
Mortar, Flamer

PIS
Mortar, Flamer

I have also bought a squad of Hardened veterans with shotguns and meltagun so I may throw them in on some games.

There's still a whole lot of fun stuff to do. Very soon I'll have a finished model to show off, so come check that out in the next few days. If anyone has any cool ideas for the kill team I'd love to hear them. Also, if anyone knows how to post photos directly that would be useful to know too.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

To Do List:

  • Assemble PIS A: 5% Complete

  • Assemble PIS B: 0%

  • Assemble PCS and sniper squad: 0%

  • Assemble Mortar squad X3: 0%

  • Assemble Veterans/Storm troopers: 0%

Okay, first, if those helmets are as nice as they look I may wanna grab some off you.

Second, Zealot miniatures does casting as a service? You have contact info for this?

Personally though I don't like to overdo the mix match of one series into another I could still see maybe a revised breastplate, shoulderpads, maybe add some greaves/kneepads, and elbow pads. Not carapace quality but still something more than the chestplate.

Maybe you could do some Stormtroopers with the heavier setup instead of basic guys.

Heh, thanks, that's quite the compliment! I can PM you the contact info if you like?

Ooh I like the idea of heavily armoured storm troopers, I think the ODST guys in halo have armoured calves and wrists so perhaps that could be a good way to represent them. This is why I like guard armies...so much flexibility for conversions.

So I got a package in the post today and voilà! I got straight to it and put my first guardsman together. I like to call this one Reloading on the go!

I'm really happy with the result of the helmet and I think it fits perfectly on the Anvil industries torsos! Please, let me know what you think!

Ok guys, I need help deciding which arm to use on my second trooper.

    We have option A: https://imgur.com/a/HGy55dN

Good looking stuff so far. I'm more partial towards option A myself; not too sure what the pose in B is going for.

As a side note, you'll find that people are more likely to leave a comment if they don't have to leave the site to look at the photos. I'd recommend uploading to the Dakka Gallery, and inserting the photos from there to here.

Thanks for the tip! I wasn't sure how to do that, but after looking into it a bit I figured it out. Will upload from the gallery from now on. Cheers.

Both look good, I instantly thought DEVGRU / Rainbow Six when I saw both poses...

I like them both but i feel like option A looks a lot more natural.
