I just picked up the previously mentioned box set and I’m not seeing directions for the scenery. Am I missing something (other than the directions?)

It was mentioned in the thread in the news and rumours section that others don't have it either.

Does anyone really need instructions for assembling that thing?

It's a modular kit. There's no correct way to build it. It's more lego than a normal kit. Just build whatever you want out of it.

I see what you mean now. I’d assumed there were instructions because there’s always instructions.

Its the flip side of no model no rules.
No terrain rules so GW doesn't care how you build terrain.

Flawless instructions are essential for a correct assembly of the model otherwise a lot of people will foul-up and get instead of a terrain piece a thunderhawk gunship out of their kit.

Which would be awesome! No wonder IK:R is so popular.

That is the prometium forge, the one in Renegade lacks.some parts for it.

It has a hex in 2 plates instead of the straight plates.

The one in Renegade is the magnavent.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

There are official assembly instructions and GWCS will email you a PDF of them if you want them too.

Think I am going to buy another renegade so I can have 2 of these peices to throw on the board. They look freaking great.

Plus 2 kights for the price of 1? WOOOT.

The terrain is just plain available($75 usd; sector mechanicus magnavent); it's really all about the bogo knights, or buy a warden get a paladin and terrain for half the price of the terrain.

Yep BOGO knights are best knights. It's a little disappointing you only get 1 rocket pod per though :(

Can the terrain be built in such a way as to make a good counts-as Sacristan Forgeshrine? Or does it have the wrong combination of parts?

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Why you want to? I would try to build it as somethign that actually benefits knights. Ironically enough forgeshrine is totally useless for knights. Or were you planning to use the shrine to help your IG? As basic infantry faction is only one that can actually benefit from that though it's expensive even for that.

Mostly, yes. Any of the sector mechanicus sets have the core structure, the magnavent has a pipe-section you could lay on top, only things you are really missing and the console and the armature

It is still a garbage fortification; only use outside of cover/protection for infantry is to heal knights that cannot otherwise be healed(Imperialis)

Oh, I never said I planned to use the Forgeshrine in competitive play, but rather as a fun option for a casual game or something. I was just curious as to whether it could be build out of that kit. Looks like it mostly can.

It isn't that it's not competitive - the shooting and moving functions are actually worse than not using it. The only thing it can do is heal and that isn't worth a turn of inaction.

It's only useful as just plain scenery.
