Unfortunaltely, our Kickstarter campaign for the board game was unsuccessful, but we're not stopping there!. We have decided to release our Runerunners miniatures in resin, and will eventually be putting together a supplement for the game world that you can use with our upcoming Gangfight universal skirmish game rules. The initial set will feature all 11 minis for $45 and we expect to have them available in around 4-6 weeks, and then we hope to release new miniatures every month or so after that.

Here are the minis, painted by Angel Giraldez. What do you think?

I dig this! Like a 20's Shadowrun/Cast a Deadly Spell. What are the odds of an orc flapper?

Ha, maybe We do have an elf flapper, I'll include her in the next round of pics.

I dig it. Love the orc Bouncer. Early 1900’s Americana was an interesting time. Is booze prohibited too? I suppose you’ll have some bootleggers too, either for magic or the more traditional moonshine?

I was planning to have it just be magic that’s banned, to make it our twist. Booze would still be allowed. If both were banned, I think magical stuff would still be more valuable and more worth fighting over. Theme wise I wouldn’t want one to take away from the other so to speak. But yeah, there will still be bootleggers, moonshiners (Runeshiners?) and everything. We’re going for all kinds of pulp themes though, prohibition is the main story acr, but we’ll still be exploring some things that might have been a decade or so later too… but I don’t think I want to get into anything WWII related. Want it to primarily have a old timey gangster vibe, but also a with some humor and a bit whimsical in some ways too. Nothing too serious or grimdarky.

The Drifter and the Archaeologist interest me. Will they be printed resin?

Short answer, yes!

I don't have a final game format nailed down yet. I would very much like to produce it as a boxed board game (which means PVC minis). But it would still be a battle game using the Gangfight rules. So if I go that route, the plan would be to offer printed resin "Collectors" sculpts as well.

All depends on the price quotes I'm waiting on. Since the boxed game would have a bunch of unique minis rather than multiple copies of mostly the same poses, the molds might be a little too expensive.. but we'll see. Worst case the separate rulebook + packs of minis approach works well too. Just have to wait and see right now.

Here is the next batch of character concepts. Orc Bounty Hunter, Dwarf Mechanic, Elf Occultist, Halfling Burglar and Orc Femme Fatal.

Trying to decide if the halfling should have shoes or bare feet? I was thinking since there's asphalt and concrete everywhere, they might have decided to finally start wearing shoes.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Maybe, but tbh if their feet can handle wandering around in the wild with all the random sharp rocks and little pointy bits of twig lying around, I'm not sure tarmac and concrete would be much of a challenge. Walking around barefoot in nature sucks.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Barefoot halflings are just boring. What is the prohibition era equivalent to crocs with socks?

A distinct lack of reptiles here makes me shake my head.

Despite such a serious transgression it's a neat concept, and I will keep my eyes peeled.

At least we've still got those snakemen coming for Blackwater, right?
...Maybe we can get some crossover rules for using some of the more exotic pieces from the existing range?

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

If halflings start with the footwear they'll choose sandals (and they might have to, no shoes, no shirt, no service)

We want to keep the horror stuff in BWG, and do more fantasy stuff for Runerunners. But there will be some Kobolds (lizardy people) and Gnolls (doggie men) too, and some ogres and other fantasy races too, but I wanted to start out with the big 5. Orcs, Humans, Elves, Dawrves and Halflings will be the most common.

I was thinking about making it all the same world/universe, but I think it will be better to keep them separate, since there's no other fantasy stuff in BWG now. Some of these characters were originally going to be for BWG but when I asked the players about adding fantasy most didn't really care for the idea. But that said some of the characters might work for crossing over if someone wants to use the minis for custom characters and stuff like that. But we'll see how it goes, Runerunners is still super early in the design stage right now.

I'll have to think about the shoes Maybe some classy restaurants would have loaner shoes instead of loaner suit jackets?

Thanks We have decided to go with a boxed game format for this, kind of a cross between zombicide and descent. And of course everything will be compatible with our universal rules too. It's going to take a while to get the sculpts all finished though, we'll probably do one every week or 2. If all goes well I think it will be kickstarting around March or so.

Here's our next new sculpt, the Orc Bounty Hunter. He's gonna be about a head taller than your average human mini, and he's strong enough to shoot his 2 shotguns like pistols What do you think?

What a fun idea !! The artwork and sculpts are looking great and I especially like the Orc Bounty Hunter.
Can't wait to see how this develops and look forward to the KS launch.

Here are some more new Runerunners characters. A Human Masked Avenger, Goblin Inventor, Kobold Thug, Dwarf Pharmacist and Minotaur Enforcer. What do you think?

Also had a question.. would you be interested in purchasing Runerunner's minis in high quality resin as solo miniatures, sometime soon? Or would you prefer to get everything together later in the full boxed game with PVC plastic minis?
