Hello,

About a month ago i got an old epicast Shadowsword, and the Tallarn Ambush strat seems to help it survive long enough to send volcanic love downrange. The Catachan trait on the other two detachments gives the multishot tanks more reliability, and Harker is there to give out reroll 1s on hits to the gunline and free up the TC to shroud and the infantry officers to order the mortars to reroll 1s to wound. More chaff would be nice, as would more CP, but I'm unsure what to cut or restructure. Only played a couple of test games with it so far, and it seems solid enough, but as I will be taking something resembling this list to to a local ITC tournament at the end of the month, your commentary, criticism, and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I like it, I would put Kurov's Aquila on a different cc so if the opponent kills your warlord you can still benefit from Kurov's Aquila. Remember Grand strategist and Kurov's Aquila require the model they are attached to be alive to work. Other then that you may want to drop 1-2 manticores for hydras as you are weak to flyers. -1 to hit can be brutal for guards.

Also if you drop the manticores you’ll save 70 points so you can throw a few side sponson heavy bolters on the tanks or you can loose another 28 points and take a Trojan support vehicle (dedicated transport) to follow the shadow sword around. I just found out about it today, the combo is crazy good with a catachan shadowsword. You reroll for number of shots reroll all missed hits and can move with no penalties.

you don't get traits on super heavies
edit - unless in superheavy aux detatchment

Can you cite this please? From what I’ve seen on forum posts it seems with the supreme command I would get the bonus but with the aux detachment I would not. My list has him in a supreme command detachment

Neroku you are correct, he has it backwards. AM codex page 132.

I read somewhere that the shadowsword becomes too fat for the 7 inches, if you include sponsons. However you can still bring a single set og sponson, just put it on the same side of the tank.

I'm not sure if this is right, you should properly measure the tank.
