A quick question for anyone who owns a Blood Cauldron and ideally Vanguard-Palladors. I'm curious as to if there's room on the base of the Cauldron to fit a pair of the mounts, one either side, of the Cauldron. I know there's no room up front without using a custom base, but the sides appear to have some room beside the wheels.

With the oval base I am using, which I think I took from a Wraithknight (built mine before it got repackaged) there is SOME space, but not sure it's enough for palladors. Surely for the cold one riders, but palladors are thicker, if I reckon correctly..

My Blood Cauldron is a bit too old to have come with an oval base, but I think I can help you with some math.

The short answer is it won't fit.

The long answer is that the cauldron came on a 100mm x 50mm rectangular base and had about two to three mm to spare on each side. By the store description it now comes with a 120mm x 92mm base. A Pallador's gryph-charger, going off of store images, seems to take up 3/4 of the width of its 75mm x 42mm base. So about 30mm, with the most you'll have on the standard cauldron base being 22mm, maybe 24mm. And that's only at the widest point.

You could rebase to 170mm x 105mm. That should give you just enough room for a gryph-charger on each side, and has the added benefit of not having the stairs hang over at the front.
