Having fun with a new Kingdom Death commission, the first time in a long while that Ive had a chance to do a lot of skin work and it was very enjoyable.

Hahahaha, just scrolling down and then I realize, "Is that a ballsack? Man, Kingdom Death is a company with design principals. Hey Jim, is this scrote wrinkly enough? Yeah, Bill. It's good. I see you've got the left one hanging lower, good attention to detail."

I particularly like what you did with the eyes.

You become numb to it after a few hours...it has a vagina mouth, lips for genitalia, aforementioned ballsack, baby face, predator grill. Ive done three of these to date and I think they account for most of the scrotums Ive painted.

I missed the vagina mouth / throat on the first pass. No punches pulled there. Good work paint wise. I think you captured the "horror" aspect well.

Love the eyes and the waterdrop on the antenna thing

And yes KD makes some astounding sculpts - not all to my taste, but very detailed and fantastic (though I'd really really have to improve on painting to justify owning any)

It's very good work! especially the eyes, yeah. and the drippy antennae thing.

personally i've never understood the whole "genitals=horror" concept, but that's me.

realism is a lie

Thanks, those eyes are so big and a focus point, making them work was important.

Thanks, its a pretty horrendous model right out of the gate, but I thought having it basically a slippery looking wombat fetus would go the whole mile.

Ive got to say that their models are probably the best quality that Ive encountered. The sculpts are great of course, but the actual product is great too.

I think the KD line has to be looked at as a whole, its more about recurring themes. Ive never played the game but Ive painted many KD commissions over the years and the monsters seem to
all share a theme and overarching vibe thats greater than its individual parts.

This is one messed up figure.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

Thanks! Its definitely a palette cleanser.

Yah...I dont really have anything to compete with it, there are other models in that line that are probably more fundamentally loathsome but I havent gotten to do them yet. For now this one tops the list.

Yeah, I keep getting drawn back to those. They really are the icing on the cake. I just want to gush about it.

It's technically (as in the skill behind it) amazingly well done. And the horror "trope" for lack of a better term of reflecting back from the eyes, rather than taking the light in is perfect on this model. They really have a chrome effect to them that's incredible.

I'm just staring at them. It's very well done. Excellent choice and execution.

I think I'm done gushing now.
