Hello all,

Been slowly working on putting together an Imperial Guard force in my spare moments, and to give myself a bit of a break, I decided to throw together a quick Enginseer conversion. The end result ended up looking a bit more Techmarine-ish than I'd expected, but not so much as to bother me much and I don't foresee it being confused for one on the tabletop. Was honestly a fun little build, and really got me thinking about how to use the odds and ends in my bit box.

Comments and criticism are both welcome.

Nice kitbash, though his legs feel a bit thin and weedy compared to the rest of the bulky model.

The thing that makes him look like a Techmarine is the shoulder pads, I think. Anything you could do to break up those shapes would help make him look more distinct.

I think you're right, and it might also make the model look a bit less top-heavy, so the legs don't look so thin in comparison, as BrookM pointed out. I just didn't have any other bits that had the mechanicus gear-skull logo. Definitely lessons for next time!

I think that the reason he looks more Techmarine than Techpriest is down to the parts used, and the silhouettes.

Because a power armor torso, shoulder pads, SM head and arms were used for the upper half he will look more like a Techmarine. By contrast most Techpriest minis wear robes and have extensive bionics.

Cool!
Where are the torso + legs from?

Torso is the gunner from the chaos vehicle sprue and the legs are actually from the warhammer fantasy marauders. Had to do a bit of scalpel work to get them to fit together, fair warning.

Spoiler:

Fair, though the enginseers I was trying to base this on tend to be a bit more power armor and a bit less robes, like this one:

Still, I think you guys are correct that the shoulder pads push it too far towards the marine end of the spectrum. I'll do a second version and post it here later.
