I have heard that the MK III shoulder pads work well with Primaris Marines. Just curious if anyone has experience with it. Seems like it work. I am about to dive into Primaris and if III works, that would be cool.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

Pretty sure any non-terminator shoulders work on any non-gravis armor primaris.

Yep marine shoulder pads and Primaris pads are interchangeable.

I'd say it depends on the pose - Mk III shoulderpads have those flared out edges which on some models can end up butting up against the backpack/power plant.

Not to say it's isn't doable, I think it just requires some care in assembly and posing.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

I recently built some DW intercessors, and had left the chapter pads off for easy painting. Checking with a MK III shoulderpad from my bits box, there was no issues with the ones I had built. Not saying that every angle of the arms will work, I’m sure you could get it to clip if you tried (it is a bit close). But they are compatible.

MK3 pads fit OK, but end up with the body looking a little thin. I'd pad them out with a little bit of GS between the arm and the pad to give them a bit more bulk. By the same token the head sits a little too deep in the neck cavity and could use a boost:
