Free Agency for the new season opened today.
Jaw dropping deal for the Maple Leafs. Tavares is good... but not 11 million a year good. Jeebuz.

Curb stomping in the Eye of Terror!

I miss the old Blues v. Redwing rivalry... Datsyuk was one of my favorite non-blues player.
I've watched the blues prospect camp and we have a young'un that plays like Datsyuk named Bokk. It's erie how Bokk comes out of a scrum with the puck, ala Datsyuk

I have a buddy who is a massive St. Louis Blues fan, so it gets wild sometimes  that and the bum  I hang out with who loves the Avalanche.

I was hoping the Devils would pick up James van Riemsdyk... or Tavares... or trade for Karlsson (does he still want out of Ottawa? Havent heard much about him since Mike Hoffman briefly became a San Jose Sharks legend) or do anything other than sign depth players...
...but I guess its unrealistic to assume that Bae Shero can rob a team of their top assets in a trade every year...

It's gonna be a couple years yet. We're getting the pieces, but they need time to be ready.
And our D corp is still just god awful. I don't think we'll be back in contention for 2 years, minimum.

Ray Emery, a talented and mercurial goaltender who played for four NHL teams over 11 seasons, drowned early Sunday while swimming at a yacht club in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He was 35.
Hamilton Police tweeted that Emery's body was recovered from the city's harbor shortly before 3 p.m., near where he was last seen approximately nine hours earlier. The Hamilton Spectator reported that Emery was with a group of people on a friend's boat when they decided to jump in the water.

One of the all-time greats. I might hate the Blackhawks, but Makita was an absolute class act.
