The kids wanted to play some 40K, I dusted off some models and we threw down for a 1500 point match. With my friends I get the occasional game of 5th in, that is what I know, so that is what we are playing . Simple scenario of capture the most objectives, any infantry unit within 3 inches can hold an objective. The kids are still learning so no super cheesy lists or anything, more fun than competition.

These Imperial power stations will be out objectives, there are 3 spread out across the table.

The lists:

We have my trusty Arbites (used as Witch Hunters)

Spoiler:

Inquisitor w/Retinue
Chimera

Battle Sisters
Rhino

Battle Sisters
Rhino

Inquisitorial Storm Troopers
Rhino

Inquisitorial Storm Troopers
Rhino

Dominion Squad
Immolator

Arco Flagellants (cyber mastiffs)

Exorcist

DA BOYZ!

Spoiler:

Warboss
Big Mek
Boyz
Boyz
Grots
Tank Bustas
Trukk
Kammandos
Battle Wagon

Set Up

Orks Turn 1

Boys move up, not much else happens.

Arbites Turn 1

Arbites rattle off a few shots and take out a few Boyz, nothing major, cover and Kustom Force Field hold strong.

Orks Turn 2

The Battle Wagon wrecks the Inquisitor’s Chimera in the center. Tank Bustaks destroy a weapon the a Rhino and the stunningly the Boyz on the left hit and destroy a weapon on the other Rhino. You can also see the “Dice Fortress” my youngest is building in the background.

Arbites Turn 2

Arco Flagellants charge the Boyz on the left side. They lose all but 1, however they tear through a lot of Boyz.

Elsewhere the Arbites plink away at the rest of the Green Horde.

Ork Turn 3

The Boyz on the left finish off the Arco Flagellants. The Ork now hold two objectives, on the left and the center. The Battle Wagon decimates the Storm Troopers advancing on the left and they break.

Arbites Turn 3

The Arbites gun down what was left of the Boyz to the right. Cover is very kind to the Boyz on the left.

Orks Turn 4

Boss Snikrot and his Kammandos show up behind the Arbite line.

Shooting from the Boyz to the left wipes out the Battle Sister Squad in the building. The Battle Wagon take out a few of the Inquisitor’s Retinue. The Kammandos take out the other Battle Sister Squad and advance into the building. The Grots secure the objective to the right.

Arbites Turn 4

The fleeing Storm Troopers on the left rally. Between shooting from the Strom Troopers and the assault of the Inquisitor, the Tank Bustas are destroyed. The inquisitor and his Retinue take cover in the center building.

Orks Turn 5

Kommandos advance on the Storm Troopers and take them out. The Gorts thoroughly entrench themselves on the right objective. The Trukk and the Battle Wagon cannot shake the Inquisitor.

Arbites Turn 5

Everyone forgot about the Dominion Squad. They hit the Boyz on the left with a double dose of flamer. The Warboss’ leadership keeps them in the game. A heavy hit from the Exorcist and storm bolters reduces the Kammandos. The Inquisitor and friends finishes them off.

Ork Turn 6

The Warboss makes quick work of the Dominion Squad, they break. Again Ork shooting cannot shake the Inquisitor.

Arbites Turn 6

Victory is out, playing for a tie now. However combined shooting cannot take out the Boyz on the left. They hold with 4 models.

Result

Orks - 2
Arbites – 1

Green victory . Oh well, you can't keep the Law down .

Hope you had fun reading, we had fun playing

Yeah they have the upper hand for now. Hoping to get some more games in soon. Maybe next time some Dark Eldar can take on the Orks

Excellent. I love old school reports. This is 40k as it was meant: fun and flavorful armies with lots of infantry, lots of conversions and the armies both looked to have a unique feel to them. I would love to see a few more pictures of your Arbites and Orks.

Looking forward to your next one!

Thanks I'll PM the link to my old painting blog. Lots of Arbite pics there. We need to get some good ones of the orks.

Thanks, Baldrick. That's impressive. I think that is probably the largest and most complete and most diverse collection of Arbites miniatures I have seen. I also loved those old models and it is great to see someone build a full army of them! Great stuff.

Thanks again, there are a few of us Arbite fans around the web. I am a big fan of older models, ah simpler times. There are a few more things I would like to add to the army maybe one day I'll get back to them, maybe more games with them will inspire me

You should check out Arbiterian here on dakka, he has some awesome stuff.

Thanks for sharing. You are right, that army is top notch. And I love that he even has some links to photo battle reports on the page! Every army looks much better in action on the tabletop, in my opinion! Good stuff.
