Hello, I've been browsing the forums for a while and as far as I can tell, this hadn't been answered. I've a question regarding the Harlequin Soaring Spite Masque Form.

"Models with this form that can FLY, or that are embarked on a Transport that can FLY, treat all Pistol weapons they are equipped with as Assault 1 weapons during a turn in which they (or the Transport they are embarked upon) Advanced. In addition, these models do not suffer the penalty to their hit rolls for firing Assault Weapons during a turn in which they Advanced."

I've recently seen it played that troupes on foot still treat their weapons as assault 1 on turns that they Advanced, rather than as pistols. And I've seen it happen enough that now I'm confused if I'm missing something. As far as I can tell, this masque form only confers the bonus to units that can either fly, or are currently embarked on units that can fly.

Am I crazy? Totally missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

For the Youtubes is donk and full of rules flubs

Fairly sure it only works on embarked units, I'm guessing the muddled second part is to cover footsloggers advancing and then embarking onto a Starweaver which then doesn't move / advance

Most people who make battle reports on youtube have a very poor grasp of the rules.

They only benefit when not embarked if they can fly, which is none of the Harlequin infantry iirc.

Nice inaccurate broad brush statement/insult. “Most people are human and can make errors’ would be fine, but no, you go right ahead and attribute incompetence as usual...

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

Not an insult, just an observation. Facts can't be insulting, by definition. I apologise if I upset you in any way.

Well it's not a fact - or at least not provable here. It's just your opinion, which can of course be insulting.

Thanks for the replies and reassurance . Glad to know I'm not crazy (well, at least not in this regard)

Could this somehow be tied into the flip belt? "this unit can move across models and terrain as if they were not there" which many players translate to "fly"
Just Curious.

FLY is a keyword. The flip belt has no interaction.
