So, please note than I'm a beginner, and I've actually never played AOS. So mistakes might be present.
Also, some models are still not available yet, but this is just a "go to" army list.

Obviously, adviced are appreciated.

Heroes

Commander - Reikenor the Grimhaler (180pts)
w/Ruler of the Spirit Hosts, Slitter, Shademist

Knight of Shourds on ethereal steed : (140pts)
w/Dreadbolt Ring

Dreadblade Harrow : (100pts)

Guardian of Souls w/ Nightmare Lantern (140pts)
w/Shademist

Cairn Wraith : 60pts

Battlelines
Hexwraith x5 (160pts)
Hexwraith x5 (160pts)
Spirit Hosts x6 (240pts)
Spirit Hosts x6 (240pts)
Chainrasp Horde x20 (160pts)

Behemoth

Black Coach (280pts)

Warscroll Battalions

Deathriders (130pts)
2 units of Hexwraith
1 Dreadblade Harrow
1 Black Coach

What are your toughts?
My plan is to spread my army in 3 groups, one with the battlalion and the Knight of Shrouds, one with Reikenor and the Spirits Hosts ('cuz the warlord trait is nuts) and the rest to try to buy time with the Chainrasp Horde buffed by the Guardian of Souls.
The Cairn Wraith is just a filler, I've considered replacing it by an Endless Spell, but I think it's risky to throw an Endless spell instead of the Shademist, which is quite a major sustain bonus for the Horde.

I'm imagining something similar... more Hexwraiths rather than spirit hosts (because I have those already).
The mounted units are my hammer... the hord of Chainrasp with the Guardian as the anvil.

Interesting.

Yup, pretty much.

I was also tempted to go for moaaaar Hexwraiths, but quite frankly, I don't see how you could counter a unit of 6 spirit hosts buffed by the Shademist (which you can barely miss because Reikenor.) and then getting reanimated by the Ruler of Spirit Hosts (being able to raise straight up 9 wounds worth of Spirit Hosts is just insane...)

Tho', ditching both Spirit Hosts and the Cairn Wraith, and replacing them by 2 more units of Hexwraiths, would give me 220pts to use... maybe doubling the Chainrasp Horde to be sure the frontline doesn't crumble instantly.

Could be interesting.

Having used the chainrasp battalion that gives double reanimation in practice, I would not leave home without it.

2 Battalions seems a bit too much tbh

To be fair, choosing between the different battalions is horrible, most of them look very strong.

Agreed. I'm considering a Chainguard battalion myself with the Beacon of Nagashizzar on the Guardian of Souls for my own Nighthaunts.

I think about using this units

Hero
Reikenor the Grimhaler : 180pts

Knight of Shrouds on Ethereal Steed : 140pts

Dreadblade Harrow : 100pts

Dreadblade Harrow : 100pts

Guardian of Souls/w Nightmare Lantern : 140pts

Batteline
Hexwraiths x5 : 160pts
Hexwraiths x5 : 160pts
Hexwraiths x5 : 160pts
Chainrasp Horde x20 : 160pts
Chainrasp Horde x20 : 160pts

Behemoth
Black Coach : 280pts

That way, I could use either batallions, Deathriders or Chainguard, with the same units.

That would leave me with 130/140 points to use on something like a small unit of Spirit Hosts or Grimghast Reapers.

Crazy, that list is pretty much the exact load out I’m thinking of( I’m new to AoS, and not a great list builder anyway). Seeing the ability to adjust which Battalion seem really good.

You can't take a command trait and a weapon on a named character, they are for unnamed characters. Here's my take:

LEADERS
Reikenor the Grimhailer (180)
- Lore of the Underworlds : Shademist
Knight of Shrouds on Ethereal Steed (140)
- Artefact : Slitter
Spirit Torment (120)
- General
- Command Trait : Ruler of the Spirit Hosts
Dreadblade Harrow (100)
Lord Executioner (80)
- Artefact : Headsman's Judgement

UNITS
5 x Bladegheist Revenants (90)
5 x Bladegheist Revenants (90)
5 x Hexwraiths (160)
5 x Hexwraiths (160)
9 x Spirit Hosts (360)

BEHEMOTHS
Black Coach (280)

BATTALIONS
Shroudguard (110)
Deathriders (130)

TOTAL: 2000/2000 EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 2 WOUNDS: 97
LEADERS: 5/6 BATTLELINES: 3 (3+) BEHEMOTHS: 1/4 ARTILLERY: 0/4
ARTEFACTS: 3/3 ALLIES: 0/400

You get two of the most powerful battalions and they work great together, plus starting with 2 CP. Your Knight of Shrouds goes with your Bladegheist Revenants and charge things repeatedly. Fighting immediately if a 9+ on your charge roll. BOOM, so powerful combined with the fact that they can dissengage then charge back in again with +1 Attack is insanely bonkers. Plus the Knight of Shrouds will be healing himself in combat.
Yes the Spirit Torment is your General, he goes with the 9 Spirit Hosts. He gives them reroll 1s and he has the reanimation for D3 model in the hero phase. Again BONKERS on Spirit hosts or Hexwraights. Hexwraiths can go with the Black Coach or honestly, just go do their own thing like Reikenor will do. The black coach is their for mega intimidation and charging your opponents big scary things with Reikenor.
The Lord Executioner hunts their lesser heroes. And with the +1 to hit and +1 to wound stats he will tear up heroes/smaller monsters.
Problems with this list are there are not a lot of wounds. A double turn with unfavorable matchups agains horde armies will grind you down. But you'll take out a ton before they do.

I like this list, but I'm a bit scared about the frontline here. I don't see how it ends up not being crushed by a large unit in a big clash.

I think 9 Spirit hosts surrounding the Spirit Torment will hold for at least a turn or two, especially if i bring back D3 models and give them their sweet reroll 1s and they dish out their MW on 6s.
