Is there a chaos equivalent of grand strategist, kurov aquilla and Veritas Vitae?

The Thousand Sons have a relic called Helm of the third eye. Whilst the bearer is on the table, everytime your opponent uses a stratgems, on a 5+ you get a CP.

The tallyman can get CP back on Deathguard stratagems on a roll of a 7. Pass.

The Tallyman's rule is basically just flavor text slapped on top of what is otherwise a Dark Apostle with t5 and Disgustingly Resilient, so it isn't as bad as advertised.

It is true the only real CP generator in Chaos is the Thousand Sons relic.

Many people don't seem to notice is that getting a 7 on a 2d6 is statistically equal to a 6 on one dice.
Its a 1/6 chance to net back the entire used CP. the HotTE, who is great, nets 1 CP on a 5+ regardless of the amount of CP used by the enemy (so a 3 CP strat still nets you only 1)

Tallyman are highly underrated.
I mean, the CP generation itself is going to refund 1/6 of your used CP over the game-so assuming you had a 12 cp start, he generates 2-that's enough to be worth alone, he is also quite cheap at 62 points, and do pretty much the same thing as the dark apostle.

their only "flaw" is that they excel at a pure DG army. and top tables currently run chaos soups, not pure DG.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Tallyman also doesn't give you a refund for BRB Stratagems, like the reroll, only the specific Death Guard ones. Tallyman is good for mono DG lists.

If you want a true Chaos CP farm just run a Cultist Battalion, a Nurgling Battalion, and 3 Renegade Knight Gallants.

Hardly matters. None of the Chaos books have a warlord trait that generates command points, and there's only a single relic in Thousand Sons. Only other possibility is taking Abaddon as your warlord. GW just crapped the bed when it came to competitive balance with AM.

Bingo.

Chaos has no "CP Farm" like Imperium. Maybe if we get an emperors children codex....

Yeah Chaos armies sure have it hard. Haven’t won anything since codex AM came out!

Setting aside any argument about how almost all of Chaos' competitive units have been repeatedly nerfed into the ground, my comment was just referring specifically to the issue of command point generation....where AM (and by extension all Imperial factions if so inclined) play by one set of unbelievably abusable rules, and all other factions have to play by much more restrictive ones.

Yeah, that's definitely an advantage to AM. But it's hard to take anyone saying that GW "crapped the bed" seriously when tournament results these days are consistently showing many different successful army lists across most of the factions in the game.

Chaos have some decent troop units(but they are not always effective at minimium unit strength), and some excellent HQs(but they are not cheap).

So, chaos can't and won't field minimium cost "CP farm" detachements. Just two "normal" battalions would be OK.

Nurgling battalions are my favorite thing in 8th edition. Nurglings are great. Poxwalkers are good debuff/smite units, all for less than a leviathan dreadnought.
