Hey everyone so idk if this belongs here but it is a question about the rules of them.
So in the order section of the am codex it doesn’t say roll a d6 and on a 4+ the order goes off.
However I have watched a couple games where they have. So now I have looked everywhere. I looked through the book and on the faqs and the only mention of it is on the questions asking about issuing another order.
So have I missed something or can I just say these guys are going to use this guys command order to use move move move and bam they have it ? If not can I be pointed in the right direction?

Maybe they were using Conscripts in the games you watched.

Check out the Conscripts Datasheet.

I see a few possibilities on why they are rolling. (besides the one mentioned above)
  • Somehow you saw a 7th edition game being played using the old rule which did require a roll (although I thought it was a leadership thing)

  • They are rolling the Cadian warlord trait. Which allows an order to take effect on another unit on a 4+.

  • They were rolling the Laurels of Command Artifact (roll a die after an order is issued, on a 4+ the character may issue another order)

  • I suspect it was the last as it would be rolled every time an order was issued.

In any case, you no longer roll. If a unit meets the criteria (is within the range and an infantry unit etc etc) the order works and they have it.

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.
