Last game my purestrains got decimated by primaris marines spending 2 cp to shoot immediately after cult ambushing on top of them. Playing admech this week who, surprise surprise, have a similar stratagem. Anything we can do to get round this? Other than ambush out of LOS and possibly not make the charge...

But yeah, LOS blocking is your best bet.

LOS blocking works. Also CA multiple units in, leaving your Purestrains for last. See if he will use the Stratagem on them first. You could even not deploy the Purestrains if he doesn't and see how the charges go next round.

I good idea to draw it out is take 2-3 small demo units (5 Acolytes with 2 demo charges. This costs about 70ish pts each and pack a surprisingly nasty wollop if you manage the 5 or 6 result so you end within 6". He will ignore these at his peril. Then DS in your big guns after. Another option is insted of acolytes go with min squads of neophytes with grenade launchers and heavy stubbers. They are again 70ish pts and can do some real damage to screening units but have the versatility to be placed on forward objectives and still contribute to shooting.
