Table I recently made for 40k, I was going for a mix of Avatar, Nagrand (WoW), snd some rogue one for good measure!

gaming wise it's got LOS blocking rocks and removable cover for ease of play, the water is shallow and traversable with no
penalty and we only go up to the floaty rocks in narrative/open play because that would be crazy...

let me know what you guys think theres plenty more progress/finished pics of this and other projects on my instagram

That's impressive!

How much weight can the two smaller floating islands bear?

I love it. It’s nice to see something beyond the ruined cities and blasted wastelands that are the extent of what most of us have built.

It can hold quite a bit! I had a few rhinos stacked on top of each other on the smallest island no problem, they're held up with coat hangers

Thank you very much we've been having a great time playing on it!

Very cool. I would argue it doesn't look terrible useful (as far as providing cover), but really slick looking. I agree it's a nice change from the usual stuff. Well done. My buddy had a great floating island table and it was fun to play on.

That's an amazing setpiece! i'd worry about accidentally knocking things off of the islands, but it would still be a lot of fun

That's one beautiful board! I am going to have to copy it. Does it separate for storage? I just love the theme. It is so different.

I made it to the specifications of the ITC format, plenty of removable areas that count as cover (trees) and two large LOS blocking terrain pieces in the middle with others in corners (rocks/mountains).
I always try to make the boards functional and interesting and I think there is a severe lack of LOS blocking terrain out there in general.

I worry about that too haha thanks mate!

Incredible piece of work!

The scene is so nice it would probably feel wrong to bring war there.

That gave me a massive nostalgia spike for Nagrand (which is one of my favorite fictional places). If that was your inspiration, you captured it amazingly well. In any event, what a fantastic board. Thanks for posting.
