Hey everyone,

I've been playing since the beginning of 8th ED pretty casually and want to start getting more into the competitive scene. Here's a list that I've come up with that uses the craftworld Alaitoc and Harlequins with the midnight sorrow trait (consolidate 6") mostly. Any feedback is greatly appreciated

Spoiler:
++ Battalion Detachment +5CP (Aeldari - Craftworlds) [60 PL, 1170pts] ++

+ No Force Org Slot +

Craftworld Attribute: Alaitoc: Fieldcraft

Farseer [6 PL, 115pts]: 2. Doom, 6. Mind War, Shuriken Pistol, Singing Spear

Warlock [2 PL, 55pts]: 4. Protect/Jinx, Shuriken Pistol, Witchblade

+ Troops +

Guardian Defenders [9 PL, 175pts]: 20x Guardian Defender
. Guardian Heavy Weapons Platform: Shuriken Cannon

Rangers [3 PL, 60pts]: 5x Ranger

Rangers [3 PL, 60pts]: 5x Ranger

+ Heavy Support +

Fire Prism [9 PL, 160pts]: Twin Shuriken Catapult

Fire Prism [9 PL, 160pts]: Twin Shuriken Catapult

Fire Prism [9 PL, 175pts]: Crystal Targeting Matrix, Spirit Stones, Twin Shuriken Catapult

+ Flyer +

Hemlock Wraithfighter [10 PL, 210pts]: 4. Protect/Jinx, Spirit Stones

Death Jester [3 PL, 45pts]

Death Jester [3 PL, 45pts]

Solitaire [5 PL, 98pts]: Cegorach's Rose, Harlequin's Caress, Harlequin's Kiss

++ Patrol Detachment (Aeldari - Harlequins) [14 PL, 267pts] ++

+ No Force Org Slot +

Masque Form: The Midnight Sorrow: The Art of Death

+ HQ +

Troupe Master [4 PL, 77pts]: Harlequin's Kiss, Shuriken Pistol

+ Troops +

Troupe [10 PL, 190pts]
. Player: Harlequin's Embrace, Shuriken Pistol
. Player: Harlequin's Embrace, Shuriken Pistol
. Player: Harlequin's Embrace, Shuriken Pistol
. Player: Harlequin's Embrace, Shuriken Pistol
. Player: Harlequin's Embrace, Shuriken Pistol
. Player: Harlequin's Embrace, Shuriken Pistol
. Player: Harlequin's Embrace, Shuriken Pistol
. Player: Harlequin's Embrace, Shuriken Pistol
. Player: Harlequin's Embrace, Shuriken Pistol
. Player: Harlequin's Embrace, Shuriken Pistol

++ Total: [92 PL, 1750pts] ++
The main idea is the craftworlds units sit in the back holding objectives with the deathjesters, while Harlequins sneak up turn one using cover and then turn 2 pop out, declare 2 units to charge, put all attacks into one then consolidate 6" to the other and pop the attack again stratagem while guardians drop from the webway to help or hold (whichever is more necessary)
Thanks again!

Footslogging is a slow way to die.
I'd prefer three 5 men Harlie units in Starweavers accompanied by HQ's.
Your Harlie fraction is too HQ/Elite heavy.

Yeah I have 3 starweavers and 15 troupes, I kinda wanted to try a 10 man blob to easily kill a 10 man MEQ and then jump to kill another, but if 5 man squads in starweavers is better I'll switch them

Veil of Tears is extremely narrow in scope.

Mirror of Minds is the most destructive psychic power in the game.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Yeah it was meant for the 10 man troupe unit to help it survive but if that is scratched then I'll definately change the power to mirror minds. The one thing about switching to the 3x5 troupes in starweavers was that it costs quite a lot more points, I would have to remove the deathjesters and a fire prism

Ok so I changed the Harlequins up quiet a bit plus read up some threads and went for Dire Avengers in wave serpents instead. Also changed the craftworld to Ulthwe because the army gets close and better BS for the guardian bomb. This is an updated list:

Craftworlds Battalion:
Attribute: Ulthwe
HQ
Farseer - Witchblade, Guide, Doom
Warlock - Protect/Jinx, witchblade

Troops
2x 4 Dire Avengers + Exarch with 2 avenger catapaults
20 Guardian Defenders with Shuri Cannon (deepstriking)

Flyer
Hemlock Wraithfighter

Transports
2x Triple Cannon Wave Serpents

Harlequins Battalion:
Mask : Frozen Stars (+1 attack on charge)
HQ
Shadowseer - Staff, Shuri Pistol, Mirror Minds, Shards of Light, Twilight of the Laughing God (love this trait)
Troupemaster - Storied Sword, Shuri Pistol

Troops
3x Troupe - 2 Fusion, 3 Embrace (2 bare bones for "cheap" casualties)

Transports
3x Starweaver

Any more suggestions? Should I keep the Alaitoc attribute even though I'll only really be using it turn one? I know the topic is now technically wrong that I changed the attribute but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Forget the Embraces. Go with Caress or Kiss weapons. Embraces might do well against MEQ, but anything with a decent invuln save means the extra AP is a waste.
Ulthwe is benefits your list more than Alaitoc as you should only have a Hemlock and the Serpents available to be shot on the first turn.

What should i swap out to afford the points? All the points are pretty tight and all my units are pretty bare bones so i have no idea what to swap them out for points-wise. I was thinking they would target everything without invluns anyways and save the invuln stuff for the massive amounts of shuriken shots or troupemaster (for characters) to deal with.

Drop an extra Wave Serpent as you can fit all of your CWE troops/HQ's into one Wave Serpent. Here's what I would do with the points:

Craftworlds Battalion:
Attribute: Ulthwe
HQ
1x Eldrad - Doom, Executioner, Guide
1x Autarch Skyrunner - Laser Lance, Fusion Pistol, Banshee Mask

Troops
2x 4 Dire Avengers + Exarch with 2 avenger catapaults
20 Guardian Defenders with Shuri Cannon (deepstriking)

Flyer
1x Hemlock Wraithfighter - Protect/Jinx

Transports
1x Triple Cannon Wave Serpents

Harlequins Battalion:
Mask : Frozen Stars (+1 attack on charge)
HQ
Shadowseer - Staff, Shuri Pistol, Mirror Minds, Shards of Light, Player of the Twilight (love this trait)
Troupemaster - Caress, Fusion Pistol, (Starmist Raiment to shut down overwatch)

Troops
2x Troupe - 3 Embrace with 2 Fusion and 2 bare bones
1x Troupe - 3 Kiss with 2 Fusion and 2 bare bones (I like one squad of Kiss for attaching things like Primaris and other multi wound)

Transports
3x Starweaver

This list works out to 1749. You have two characters which ignore overwatch allowing your Troupes to get into combat unscathed. Since you'll have 13 CP, You can afford to pay 2CP to make your Troupe Master a Great Harlequin giving him a 6" re-roll 1's Aura for your Masque. All of your Ulthwe Characters go into the lone Wave Serpent as the Autarch follows giving those Shuriken Cannons rerolls of 1.

Ok thank you so much, I actually only have one wave serpent so this works out perfect! The idea was to have 2 wave serpents so that the Avenger squads had the potential to split up if I needed them to but I feel like they would most likely stay together anyways. I just need to buy the autarch, which I was planning on doing and Eldrad, who I was thinking of getting.

What about Cegorachs Rose on the troupemaster? I have the CP's to spend, I have one modelled with a kiss, and I feel like he could do some pretty serious damage.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Nevermind that was a stupid suggestion for the Troupe master because then he wouldn't have the starmist raiment. Disregard that. However, I put the list into battlescribe and it's only 1728 so I'll try to see if I can get a better heavy weapons for the guardians and an extra dire avenger.

What's everyones opinion on the Solitaire with Cegorachs Rose? I love the star paint scheme I gave him and the model is great I'll use him in every casual game, but comp wise how does he do?
