I'm asking about the overall presentation and included game components in the box, not so much the ruleset. I've always thought the 2nd edition with the styrofoam pitch and the removable end zone inlays was something special.

I agree. BB was my entry into the GW world. Then the Star Player & Companion book developed this crazy world even further. These were the golden times of fantasy football with all the wacky stuff going on like scoring touchdowns with the severed heads of your opponent´s players.

I agree. BB was my entry into the GW world. Then the Star Player & Companion book developed this crazy world even further. These were the golden times of fantasy football with all the wacky stuff going on like scoring touchdowns with the severed heads of your opponent´s players.


It was my introduction to GW as well. The Star Player and Companion books were great. Hardcover too!

The art was great and the stories too. The rules were so tightly packed that you needed an accountant´s degree for campaign play but it was worth it. Though the new turnover mechanic and the new setup prior to a kick-off are improvements imo.
