So I haven't played 40k in a very, very long time, but I am starting to get the itch to get back into the universe, mainly thinking about dark elder.
Are they still a thing?
Is the codex current or due to be replaced?
I've seen there are a lot more spin off games, are there any dark elder forces for them?
Any recommendations for proxies?
thanks

They still exist, though they're called Drukhari now.
The codex is very recent, having only come out in the past couple months, and the army is stronger than it's ever been.

Yes.
One of the most recent.
Yes.
As in, using DE kits to proxy something else, or kits you could proxy as DE? DE has some of the nicer kits in the game, and some great rules, so I'm not sure on the value of either.

Its one of the best codices in the game.
There are strong units in there especially if you want to play a Kabal.

I mean other companies that do minis like dark elder, I always like sprinkling a few other types of minis in my forces

I can't speak to other companies, but consider Dark Elves and Harlequins for a few other minis and kitbashing bits. Some CWE and other-Elf kits could also be useful. Automatically Appended Next Post: (I've looked for other companies for my various Eldar, but didn't find ones I'd enjoy kitbashing.)
