The Romans actually used the phalanx formation as well though. It was not until the 3rd century BC that they started using the legion formation they became famous for. And even in the Roman legion, the elite troops (triarii) still fought in phalanx formation until they were abolished in the Marian reforms.

Yup, this ^ The video depicts the sarissa, not the doru. I'm aware the Romans used Greek equipment and tactics in the past, but that is not what is depicted.
