Hi everyone I am brand new to 40k and to the forum but I wanted to share the first guy I've painted and get some feedback! I'm really really happy with how he turned out but this is all new to me!

Great stuff and welcome to 40K
Nice to see that you have gone to the trouble of painting the liquid in the syringes. Your paint job looks very neat. Have you done any miniature painting before? Are you planning on doing the base?

I ruined a few d&d skeletons learning how to thin paints, but I don't have any painting experience besides that. I'm conflicted about basing - on the one hand it looks really cool, on the other hand I don't like the idea of having the bases not match the battlefield I'm on.

Go with dirt.. greyish dirt as in baking soda over crazy glue and some cat litter to make rubble.

Greyish brown goes with every possible landscape. Ice planet. Check. Most have exposed rock on the snow someplace.

Forrest. Brown goes with trees.

Etc...

Goodluck

Well done. Take a few empty bases to work with your basing concepts.

Just forgot what I was going to say.

Great job! I go with two shades of light brown on all my bases. I use a coat of sand first on top of pva glue. Break it up with some some bigger pieces of gravel. Shades of gray works if your painting for an urban look. Practice on some hard cardboard to see what you like. If you don't like it the pva glue and sand can be scrapped off. Good luck!
