Nope. Kill team is a much better game, the dumpster fire of 8th can wait.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

As an Ork player I gave up hope so the longer I don't have my codex the more I can be happy my faction isn't as bad as 7th.

Why do you think it'll be OP, or do you think Russ is coming? I wouldn't worry about SW getting OP anymore with the game the way it is, spam/soup/super friends lists can be easily countered now.

I'm actually a little excited for kill team. The rules seem all right.

Brutal, but kunning!

Me and my friends have always made our own kill team rules, as its so easy to do, so that's probably why I'm not bothered.

Are the Last Chancers still a valid kill team?

I'm sure you could use most of the models to make a cool KT squad, but I don't think you could just use them 'as is' as a full team. I think a few of the weapons they have are probably not available to Guard.

Not really. GW is a big company that do a lot of things. There's no guarantee the Codexes would be any earlier without Kill Team, for all we know they brought on additional people to work on it and stuff.

Someone had to be last anyway, and I think if you're in 40k for the long haul you have to learn to be somewhat zen about the release schedule.

You do realize its almost identical in play with a smaller selection and model count right. I think there's maybe 3 different rules in total otherwise xD unless the garbage fire to you is the selection of units or something, but then Id have to ask, who hurt you?

While I don't buy into Peregrine's hyperbole, to be fair the changes they have made are pretty massive and game changing. Alternating activations, better cover system, and always hitting on 6s would all be welcome changes to 8th, and will make for a very different flow to the game.

More than anything, it does support trying lots of stuff: if I feel like trying drukharii, I can but a wych box and a kabalite box and combine the two to convert the feck out of a team, over a weekend, play a few games, and still not break the bank.

By comparison, If I assemble, say, a characterful 1750 point army (or whatever WHW events are these days) and after building and painting the whole army discover its really bad, it could take months of time and disposable income to "fix" it.

Sisters are last, baring any new armies GW decides to make afterwards.

Very true! Could be Imperial Agents or something. DarkMech? That would be tasty.

But yes, glass half full. Space Wolves and Orks likely getting their codex like 6 months or something before the last codex. That's not so bad!

I'm assuming this fall for both. I think they and GSC's are the last ones that haven't been given an 'expectation' date.

Kill Team looks awful to me.

Besides Marines, most of the factions consist of unfluffy units made out of resin and old crappy plastics.

Why would an Eldar player ever want to make a KT? Sweet guardian squad! Awesome Rangers in finecrap! No striking scorpions. The same is true for DE, Necrons, Chaos, etc.

If they ever updated the kits that we are STILL USING FROM THE 1990s then Kill Team would be much more appealing outside of being a marine.

On top of that we are getting our third skirmish game in what, 3 years? Finish the 8th edition codex release, get your main game completed, then jump into new small scale games.

They promise it being supported but is it really? Why do Dark Eldar only get 2 units? Necrons have NO CUSTOMIZATION on their sprues. Finecast RUINS a ton of units that would be super fluffy and great in KT.

No thanks, hard pass.

Civilization is the progress toward a society of privacy. The savage's whole existence is public, ruled by the laws of his tribe. Civilization is the process of setting man free from men.

The grey knight focus seems rather bland. They tell people to buy a strike box, show two tactics and that is it. No in depth analyzs of champions, specialists or anything how the army works.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

For all anyone knows the delay on orks and wolves could be to do with a wave of new releases headlined by Russ and Ghazghkull.
No guarantee of course but it seems odd they'd not have at least one of them out by now if it was an unsupported release.

There is the rogue trader game coming up which includes inquisition retinue-style models (death cultist for instance). Something GW could build off of.

Killteam has satiated my rumor mongering for now until I can get my Ork codex! My LGS closed down over a month ago, so I've had no games, but Killteam has kept me interested and busy working my Collection into usable teams. It will also be alot easier to carry a Killteam to a new venue.

That's because Grey Knights only get access to the Strike Squad (Interceptors move to fast to be balanced, and the rest of the army, barring Purifiers, which are just more psychically skilled Strike Squads, are all in Terminator Armour - which is banned in Kill Team for now).

You get the same specialists and army construction as everyone else. Factions don't get specific specialists - it's just a perk that gets added on to the existing models.

Basically, you get a handful of PAGK, one of which is your leader, and three others get to have a special rule added to them (from a set list).

U.k

I thought they had a specialist games team now working on things like kill team, if so it’s only eating up release time not development time. Also they want to get in those fresh new players who need to buy whole armies! Not us old ones who just want a book. Kill team and skirmish games are a good route in.

Also lots of folk complained about losing skirmish games and now there’s too many!?!? I for one am excited for kill team but would like an ORK codex. And no prime ork nonesense.

Compared to previous editions GW has pushed out all the codex's like crazy. I remember back in 5th when there might be three a year if you were lucky.
