A list I plan on trying out this weekend. No idea what the scenario will be, so I figured hit hard isnt a terrible strategy. opponent(s) will be Sylvaneth, Skaven, Disciples of Tzeentch, and/or Nighthaunts.

Fuethan Enclave

HQs:
Volturnos
(General)

Tidecaster
(Lore of the Deep: Arcane Corrasion)

Soul Scryer
(Auric Lantern)

Battlelines:

Islean Guard x6

Morrsarr Guard x6

Morrsarr Guard x3

Namarti Thralls x10

Other:

Allopex

Allopex

Allies:

Celestar Ballista

Celestar Ballista

Celestar Ballista

This puts me at 1960 points. Critiques welcome.

These are my thoughts:

I would take more morsarr guard instead of the allopex if you have them. It will give you a higher mortal wound output. And if you can save up command pts for Volturnos' command ability, doing it multiple times on high tide to crush any opponent?

A bigger block of thralls maybe? 10 will be oneshot in a second.
Otherwhise I would take more cavalry instead of the 10 thralls.

20 pts for shackles (endless spell) you are fast, a chance of halving your opponents movement can be devastating to claim objectives.

A loremaster to go with the ballistas to give one re-roll to hit and to wound each turn?. And it would give you an extra wizard (some scenarios only wizards and artifact carriers can score)
And doing that on Volturnos is also awesome.

its kind of a list of what i have at the moment. I would definitely swap the thralls out for more morrsarr guard. i didn't consider the shackles, that's not a bad idea. typically i run the allopexes in one unit but i broke them apart for this list to get the 12 total units for 3 allies. never ran the ballistas but they look real good on paper.

Game ended up going well. played against Sylvaneth. his list was Treelord Ancient, Durthu, Drycha, a massive unit of 12 Kurnoth Hunters with bows, two 5 man units of tree revenants, and a 5 man unit of spite revenants.

I ended up dropping a ballista and adding 10 more thralls (unit of 20) and making the allopexes one unit.

As this was part of a league we had special rules for the table. namely the entire board granted cover bonus.

I used the thralls to screen my army turn 1. deployed everything on the table, the tidecaller and soulscryer near one half of a shipwreck (the other was in the middle of the board to try to limit wyldwood placement). my opponent used the three revenant squads to screen the rest of his army. he played turn 1 first and shot my thralls killing 14 and the rest left to battleshock. I cast mystic shield on the ishlean guard, moved up and shot at the revenants with allopexes and ballistas knocking one tree revenants to 1 model and killing a spite revenant.

turn two my opponent went first again and shot at the Ishlean guard killing one model. he then (admitting afterwards it was a mistake) charged all of his remaining revenants into the ishlean guard, who ended up wiping all three units in that combat. My turn 2 I cast Arcane Corrasion targeting Durthu dealing 2 mortal wounds. I charged the kurnoth hunters with the ishlean guard, the treelord ancient with volturnos (dealing 3 mortal wounds on impact). the allopexes also went into the treelord ancient. Durthu was charged by the 3 man morssarr guard. at the end of combat Durthu was at 5 wounds, Treelord ancient was at 8, and 1 or two kurnoth hunters died.

turn 3 i won the initiative and went first. tidecaller cast arcane corrasion again but was dispelled by drycha. Volturnos used his command ability 3 times on himself, the allopexes, and the 6 man morrsarr guard. the morrsarr guard charged the kurnoth hunters putting one close to Durthu. by the end of my turn he had 3-4 kurnoth hunters and drycha left on the table. by the end of his turn 3 he was left with Just drycha, and I had yet to lose a full unit save for the Thralls in turn 1.

Drycha died in the first combat of turn 4, ending the game.

we didnt do a scenario. our play group is still fairly new, so often we just line up our models and kill each other.
