Game ended up going well. played against Sylvaneth. his list was Treelord Ancient, Durthu, Drycha, a massive unit of 12 Kurnoth Hunters with bows, two 5 man units of tree revenants, and a 5 man unit of spite revenants.
I ended up dropping a ballista and adding 10 more thralls (unit of 20) and making the allopexes one unit.
As this was part of a league we had special rules for the table. namely the entire board granted cover bonus.
I used the thralls to screen my army turn 1. deployed everything on the table, the tidecaller and soulscryer near one half of a shipwreck (the other was in the middle of the board to try to limit wyldwood placement). my opponent used the three revenant squads to screen the rest of his army. he played turn 1 first and shot my thralls killing 14 and the rest left to battleshock. I cast mystic shield on the ishlean guard, moved up and shot at the revenants with allopexes and ballistas knocking one tree revenants to 1 model and killing a spite revenant.
turn two my opponent went first again and shot at the Ishlean guard killing one model. he then (admitting afterwards it was a mistake) charged all of his remaining revenants into the ishlean guard, who ended up wiping all three units in that combat. My turn 2 I cast Arcane Corrasion targeting Durthu dealing 2 mortal wounds. I charged the kurnoth hunters with the ishlean guard, the treelord ancient with volturnos (dealing 3 mortal wounds on impact). the allopexes also went into the treelord ancient. Durthu was charged by the 3 man morssarr guard. at the end of combat Durthu was at 5 wounds, Treelord ancient was at 8, and 1 or two kurnoth hunters died.
turn 3 i won the initiative and went first. tidecaller cast arcane corrasion again but was dispelled by drycha. Volturnos used his command ability 3 times on himself, the allopexes, and the 6 man morrsarr guard. the morrsarr guard charged the kurnoth hunters putting one close to Durthu. by the end of my turn he had 3-4 kurnoth hunters and drycha left on the table. by the end of his turn 3 he was left with Just drycha, and I had yet to lose a full unit save for the Thralls in turn 1.
Drycha died in the first combat of turn 4, ending the game.
