To reduce bloat in the regular 40k subforums (especially Tactics), I'm wondering if there should be a separate area specifically for Kill Team, to reduce clutter and help people find what they want to discuss quickly.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2023: 40 | Total models painted in 2024: 7 | Current main painting project: Dark Angels

Kill Team doesn't belong in the 40K subforums, but in Specialist Games.

Given the huge volume of Kill Team threads relative to the low-traffic OOP games SG was intended for and the fact that Kill Team is mostly just 40k with a lower point limit a separate forum is justified to keep the real SG threads from being overwhelmed.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

It is still far too early to even consider giving Kill Team a subforum of its own.

Give it a week or two and the traffic will be down to a more acceptable level again. New releases usually generate something of an uptick in interest and posting habits.

I will note that Kill Team threads continue to pop up in the various 40K forums. If they're posted in the appropriate forum and tagged it will make it easier for Lego and Yak to determine if Kill Team has enough traffic for it's own forum.

Please flag any KT threads posted in the wrong forum and we will move them, as we have been doing. If KT sustains a healthy amount of posting into next we will add a new subforum and move all the threads there. As BrookM mentioned, it is still way too early for that.

I too would like a sub-forum for KT, it's hard as hell as I have two different topics I want to post about at the moment, and I don't have a clue where to post them.

[KILL TEAM] is absolutely dominating the "GW Specialist Games" sub-forum.

I'd love to see it moved out on its own.

It certainly seems to tick that Dakka Dakka "If they come, we'll build it" box.

It's a new game, that's why it's dominating the forum. The question is will it still be doing so 6 to 12 months from now?

Maybe?

Probably?

Didn't GW say it was going to be a new 'core' game, and get lots 'n' lots o' support for the foreseeable future?

(Yeah, I know, but still!)
