What does a typical Space Marine carry with them? Just overthinking things from a fluff/RP perspective. In addition to their normal bolter, ammunition, and combat knife, do they carry “rations,” etc? I imagine this might be the role of a rhino frequently, carrying everything not combat specific.
Space Marines seem to be in a lot of high mobility positions, so it seems like even if they are riding in a rhino, they need to carry some amount of kit. Just wondering.

I'm pretty sure their armour provides water and nutrition intravenously, so they'd have no need to carry additional rations. Honestly, I think tools for maintaining their weapons and armour is going to be their biggest priority. So cans of rapid-sealant spray, a small las-welder, spare boltgun barrel, lens-cleaning kit (you don't want your autosenses or targeter rendered useless by wading through mud), ritual oils to appease the machine spirits, that sort of thing.

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

I believe the Deathwatch RPG covers a lot of this. Rations aren't really needed seeing as Space Marines can A, last quite some time without them, B, eat a wide range of materials, and C, don't tend to operate for extended periods of time in the field (except recon units, which often have a nearby base of operations).

There is a kind of sealant cement that fixes power armour in the field, which is used. Ritual oils and maintainance cloths are all easily parts that a Space Marine might have, however, at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if their gear was so high quality that it wasn't needed in the field.

Generally, I think the main ones to have would be basic maintainance kits and armour cement.

It's an old diagram but I don't think it's ever been retconned
