So team USA has a good showing so far at the ETC this year. They have won all 3 of their matches 2 of which were against France and Poland (always a powerhouse and Usually on the podium). They play belarus in round 4and could be sitting at the max 8 points going into the last day with a win. Russia and Denmark are the 2 other undefeated teams who are currently facing off.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Big win for USA and in 1st place and the only team with max match points. Looks like they’ll face Russia to start the day.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Big win for USA putting them in first place as the only team with max match points. Should face Russia to start the day tomorrow.

FYI Russia was last year champs

Very tough round 5 between the teams. A couple of crushing victories for both sides. Might go euther way.

USA beat Russia and plays Spain for the last round. A tie gives them the gold. They are guaranteed to medal sitting at 10 match points.

Also sorry about not having last years champ right.

Gonyo and Nick are both winning their games though Nick has to finish the tabling on time. Kurt somehow is hanging in on the knight dumpster game. Nayden and Kopach finished their 20s pretty fast.

America is now at 72-28 with 3 games still unreported. Very close to sealing the Championship.
Tony - 20
Sean - 20
Kurt - 13 (vs. trips castellans w/ trips vaults so that's pretty insane)
Nick - 12
Rose - Solid 7 loss
Word is Gonyo is winning, which if it holds will seal it up

Wow that is really impressive! Great to finally see USA win this one and to have no sportsmanship issues (in general) is also a great step forward. Did USA win the last two singles events held on Thursdays for the ETC tournies? French players wins it...we win the Team tourney!

US won the first Euro invite at LGT, the largest European singles event ever at LGT, and Europe's most important and biggest event in ETC all in the same year.

Haha, I hope a GW employee was spectating the event so they could weep at trips Castellans against trips Vaults. A WD battle report, that ain’t.

Do we start singing "We are the champions" now?? Also I notice we have a BP penalty of -40 what is that?

The -40 was because we goofed on list submission. We listed the wrong unit name but had points correct, it was corrected within days of list submission but that point penalty was applied.

Head Referee from the ETC here. First off a very well deserved win by the boys in blue and black. They up held the high standards of friendly competitiveness we have all come to love and expect from them. Specially mention to Brad and Nick Rose keeping their cool in a difficult situation. Karma Nick! I told you it was karma that you would win!

FYI the this is only the third time in 12 years a team has gone 6-0. I should know I have been to them all ;-)

FYI FYI look out America; this no bs head referee may be coming to a team tournament near you soon....

Is there anywhere to find what lists were used by team USA? Always interesting to see how the captain/team chooses lists to respond to other teams meta / matchups.

I don’t know why spikybits is raving about “knights coming out on top”...there was one knight in all the lists, and it was about 1/3 of that list.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
