Entering a Knight Heavy Meta 2000pt Tourney. I cant decide between the following 3 lists.
1. Overall Solid (worried it is too "All-Comers" to actually be effective)

List 2 and 3 are committing WAAAYYY too much to killing knights, don't bring them to a tournament.

List one is pretty decent, I've run a similar list in a tournament and won 2/3 games.

First of all, take the cloak off your Cryptek and give him chronometron. He can auto advance 6 because of Nephrekh, keep up with your destroyers and give them a 5+ invul.

Seriously consider taking multiple DDarks instead of a Pylon. This was my feeling after the tournament. 2d6 str 10 shots is great, plus the unit itself is more flexible. The invul bubble is almost useless in that list.

What's going to happen is, your Pylon will target a knight, they'll pop a stratagem and give it a 3+ invuln, rendering the Pylons shots almost completely useless unless you're lucky. If you have multiple DDarks you can target a different unit once the stratagem has been popped.

If you go down the DDark route, you'll save about 170 points and have way more tactical flexibilty while being able to murder knights still.

Dont use pylons, use tvaults. Knights 3+ inv sv is useless against ctan powers.

It would take all game to kill a knight with a Vault. Also you'd want to keep your distance from Knights, they can completely wreck a vault if they get close.

Same can be said about the pylon.

A knight can also wreck a pylon if they get close.

I have had mixed luck with DDAs and Pylons - I ran 2 DDA recently and killed one Armiger all game. The Flayer Arrays killed way more lol

Similarly I played in an ITC tourney, with a pylon - Game 1 killed the Great Unclean one - 1 Shot
Game 2 I popped a knight a Slam Captain and a 2 Armiger - 1 Shot each
Game 3, The opponent's knight made his saves walked up and flattened the Pylon.

Ultimately my take away is a Pylon only needs 2 failed saves and ANY Knight is gone. Period

How about a mix of the Lists and the comments

Battalion +5CP - Nephrekh **For Movement**

2x DDA **These flank the Pylon getting a 5++ and protect it from Slam Captains**

Not really. First, knights can have a 6+ FNP, house taranis household tradition. Then, there is the house taranis stratagem that lets a knight rise back up again on a 4+ with D3 wounds remaining after it has been destroyed. Another stratagem lets a knight use the top row of its wound table. With adeptus mechanicus more shenanigans are possible.

P5freak - you are correct, but that would be the same for the DDAs. And honestly If they take House Taranis, I'll be glad as I believe Taranis is one of the weaker houses.
