Hello All!

This weekend I am participating in a small tournament at my FLG. It is 1500 points max, but only 2 Detachments are allowed. It will be Maelstrom of War scenarios with Front-Line Assault deployment for all three missions. Below is what I am planning on bringing:

BATTALION
HQ
1) Daemon Prince with Wings: Two Sets of Malefic Talons
2) Chaos Lord: Plasma Pistol and Power Fist

TROOPS
1) 36x Chaos Cultists: Autoguns
2) 10x Chaos Cultists: Autopistols and Brutal Assault Weapons
3) 10x Chaos Cultists: Autopistols and Brutal Assault Weapons

HEAVY SUPPORT
1) 8x Chaos Havocs: 4x Missile Launchers

SUPER-HEAVY DETACHMENT
1) 1x Renegade Knight: Thermal Cannon, Thunderstrike Gauntlet
- Heavy Stubber, Stormspear Rocket Pod
2) 1x Renegade Armiger: Thermal Spear, Reaper Chain-Cleaver
3) 1x Renegade Armiger: Thermal Spear, Reaper Chain-Cleaver

If my math is right, that should be 1500 points on the nose and gives me 11 Command Points to play with. Wondering if there are any tweaks I should be making before the weekend?

Thanks for all your thoughts!

I like the idea of the army. A large unit of Cultists to perhaps infiltrate and put pressure on objectives / soft targets, and push back roadblocks.
And a heavy wave of mechanised / daemonic close combat vehicle & mob killing big guys. Very scary

One thing I don't think synchronizes well is the Chaos Lord. If you give him a jump pack, Blade of the Hydra and a Bolt Pistol he's a lot faster and a lot more lethal
(with the 1 commandpoint Bolt of Chaos (1d3 mortal wounds), the bolt pistol is kinda awesome in a pinch). And incidently the same points.
Otherwise the Lord will not be able to keep up.

Other thing to think about is the Havoc squad. 4 Missile Launchers on 8 bodies is a lot of points for not too much dakka.
Perhaps you could exchange them for 3 (Slaanesh) Obliterators?
The point difference isn't that big, but Obliterators are harder hitting then 4 Missile Launchers (if you have the models of course).
I took down an Imperial Knight with one round of shooting of those Obliterators. So they can be amazing (with a bit of luck, and my opponent forgetting to rotate shields).

Marks?
Also, what Marks are all those Alpha Legion units?
- The Daemon Prince could benefit from Tzeentch (extra Psychic power strategem).
- The Chaos Lord could benefit from a Mark of Khorne (2nd round of combat strategem if need be, expensive though)
- The Cultists could benefit from a Mark of Slaanesh (2nd round of 36 x 2 autogun shots, combined with Veterans of the long war, is pretty cool).

Anyways, great list even without modifications.

Anyone kitbash their obliterators rather than use the standard kit? Tips?

Slaanesh oblitorators are great combo with a sorceror to use potentially prescience, delightful agonies powers and then VotLW and endless cacophony. I have added my oblitorators conversion, used centurions and a helbrute, bit of green stuff, not hard. I am considering making both.

Curious to see how the missile launchers would do.

Thanks for the feedback! The Chaos Lord was actually meant to babysit the Havocs since he gives a re-roll of 1's to hit while the Daemon Prince accompanies the Super Heavies down the line. I've been eyeing Obliterators for a while, but unfortunately I don't have the models. I'm hoping that plopping the Havocs in cover and with Alpha Legion's trait of having enemies -1 to hit them will make them more durable.

All of my army has the Mark of Nurgle. I know it's not the most competitive, but that's purely because of fluff and paint reasons.
