I've been looking for terrain like the one found in the Mordheim box and the old Necromunda box, but can't seem to find it anywhere. Surely there must be companies making that kind of cardboard terrain and not just plastic and resin etc?

I liked it since it was easy to store and easy to put together and take apart, and also no need to paint it...and I guess it was also a lot cheaper

Most of those companies do MDF now. Basically the same concept but much more robust. The printed stuff - that'll be harder to find. Check out Papercraft games, or look for some of the old Terra-Clips stuff from Wyrd?

I did see some Kickstarters within the past year or two going in the cardboard direction.

I think he is looking more for the slip joint cardboard terrain as its easier to disassemble and flat pack rather than mdf that is already glued together,

the closest thing i can think of is the cardboard buidlings from dropzone commander but that is the wrong scale.

Most of the card terrain is print-it-yourself style, where you buy the PDFs for $5 or so and then print it out on your home printer or pay to have a printshop do it (that gets very expensive). It's a good option if you can print stuff through your job or you have a good color laser printer or continuous ink system at home. The added bonus is that many of these types of PDFs are layered PDFs that have different colorsand optional designs/overlays to change around the buildings you print

There's a lot of sets on wargamevault.

Fat Dragon has a bunch here

Stonehaven Miniatures ran a nifty kickstarter a few years ago for print-it-yourself terrain that folds away like a folding pop-up book, but I can't find them on the actual website now

If your looking for already printed stuff, there's the Malifaux stuff that was mentioned. There's also Battlesystems, who make a bunch of different sci-fi and dungeon sets printed on board-game quality thick card that slots together

I played kill team at the weekend on the original necromunda card scenery and it was amazing. I want some so badly. My cousin was very smart and never sold any of the Warhammer, I was dumb and sold it all -_-

Approx armies
9000pts AdMech (Main army)
7000pts Black Templars (original army)
3500pts Death Guard (lazy side project)
2000pts Imperial Knights (extension of AdMech)
2000pts Harlequins (fun side project)

Yep, GW had an excellent thing going in the late 90's with their card+plastic bulkhead style. Robust, easy to build, pretty modular etc. They had a large line of it --- even better when it came out for Mordheim with additional plastic flourishes.

Miss this old stuff:

We're back there now with MDF, and soon I hope the printed/stickered MDF catches on. Doesn't have to break the bank to be attractive and really useful.
