Most suggest starting with City of Secrets. That's the point when to lore started coming together into a recognizable world. You should also spend some time on www.malignportents.com

2000 Khorne Bloodbound (Skullfiend Tribe- Aqshy)
1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress
2000 Slaves to Darkness (Ravagers)

Spear of Shadows is something you want to read. It really shows what Age of Sigmar is compared to City of Secrets.

The Gates of Azyr is pretty abysmal as a book, but from a lore perspective it preemptively disproves a lot of the misconceptions people have about the AoS setting and Stormcast in general.

Are there any novels that feature the Daughters of Khaine yet?

There is a "getting started" book that has like 10 short stories in it that lead into full sized novels. It's also incredibly cheap ($8). I've been enjoying it. It can give you an example of each author, then tells you what book picks up where the novella leaves off. It's called Hammerhal and other short stories.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

If you get City of Secrets and like it then pick up The Silver Shard, its a direct continuation.

Soul Wars is a great read if you want the most current Stormcast stuffs. Anything by Josh Reynolds is great. He just gets the setting.

Skaven Pestilens is one that is easily overlooked but is really good. It ties into Spear of Shadows in that one of the cities they visit in the book is the one the Stormcast are conquering in Pestilens.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.
